The New York Giants are in a bit of a tricky spot right now. They seem to be going through some changes, but the people in charge might not have enough time to see it all through.

Pressure is mounting.

According to Alex Ballentine from Bleacher Report, head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen need to deliver results this season. This means the Giants might have to make some important decisions soon.

Ballentine suggests that Azeez Ojulari, a 25-year-old edge rusher, could be a player the Giants consider trading as NFL training camp approaches. He believes it would be wise for New York to explore this option.

So, where could Ojulari go? We think the Chicago Bears could be a great fit for him. Imagine him lining up alongside Montez Sweat on the Bears’ defense—talk about a dynamic duo!

With Sweat commanding attention, Ojulari would likely get more one-on-one opportunities. “It’s an ideal situation for both sides,” says Ballentine.

Ojulari has had his share of injuries and hasn’t quite matched his rookie season’s performance. In 2021, he had eight sacks and two pass deflections over 17 games. However, he’s only played in 18 games since then due to various injuries.

In 2023, Ojulari managed just 2.5 sacks and 16 tackles while missing six weeks with hamstring and ankle issues.

He’s also entering the final year of his rookie contract. Given the Giants’ recent investments in other players like Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, it’s uncertain if they’ll re-sign Ojulari to a long-term deal.

Trading Ojulari could be beneficial for both teams. The Bears run a 4-3 defensive scheme, which is different from the Giants’ 3-4 setup. This change might help Ojulari thrive in a new environment.

A fresh start in Chicago could be what he needs.
