Men, Take A Knee: Team USA Pregame Speech Before WBC Great Britain Matchup

Team USA will kick off their pool play matchups in the 2023 World Baseball Classic when they meet Great Britain on Saturday night. The game is set for 9 pm EST. and will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix. Before the squad takes the diamond, they need to see the words of those dedicated to repping those three colors that don’t run, baby!

“Men, take a knee. Tonight we begin a journey that every man in this locker room has always dreamed of being a part of. We show the world that this country is the definition of baseball. The English may lay claim to the creation of the game, but WE perfected it.

Baseball is long balls, hotdogs, and even a friendly disagreement with the umpire standing by the dugout. The stars and stripes are a symbol for a bat and a ball. Every child has memories of four-hour-long Little League practices where we would rather be anywhere else but on that diamond. Oh, just me? Moving on.

Tonight, we welcome an old foe to the friendly confines of an American ballpark. If you look back in the history books, Great Britain is known for one thing. That one thing is blowing the biggest 3-0 lead in war history. They know how to lose, and they’ve come to the right place to find another L in their record books.

This game is for Paul Revere, a cold beer and a medium rare steer. This game needs to be over before teatime or before I run out of bad rhymes.

Yes, the British are coming. However, the final thing they’ll hear on Saturday night, as there’s a drive into deep left field by Trout, and that’ll be a home run. And so that’ll make it a 4-0 ballgame.”

Signed –

All of those rooting for the red, white, and blue.
