Inspections Impacted by Systemwide Outage Starting July 11

SDCI is upgrading our online permit and inspection system, the Seattle Services Portal, to improve system performance and reliability. We are migrating the Seattle Services Portal to cloud servers to enhance the user experience for both our customers and SDCI staff. As a result, our permit and inspection system will be offline from Thursday, July 11, 5:30 p.m. to Monday July 15, 7:00 a.m. There is a slight possibility the outage will extend into Monday, July 15.  

What you need to know: 

  • Scheduled downtime: Customers cannot schedule inspections online or by phone from Thursday, July 11, 5:30 p.m. to Monday, July 15, 7:00 a.m. Online and phone scheduling are potentially unavailable through Monday, July 15, 2024. 
  • Reason: SDCI is migrating the Seattle Services Portal to cloud servers for improved performance and reliability. 
  • Action required: We are asking customers to schedule inspections online or by phone for July 12 – 16 by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11.  
  • Inspections: SDCI will perform inspections as usual for inspections scheduled in advance. Please have all approved plans and permits available onsite the day of your inspection. 
  • Results availability: Online inspection results will be delayed until at least Monday, July 15, 2024, when inspectors can enter the results into the Seattle Services Portal. Inspectors will leave a paper copy of the inspection results onsite the day of the inspection.
