BROOKLYN/QUEENS — CON EDISON’S POWER OUTAGE MAP showed that between 1-2 p.m. Monday, only 75-150 customers remained without power citywide, following outages late Sunday afternoon that affected close to 700 customers across Brooklyn and Queens. According to the map, roughly 500 customers were without power in Queens by 6 p.m. Sunday, while 166 customers in southern and Central Brooklyn and four in Westchester were affected. (One “customer” could represent a single-family house, a business or an apartment building.) Throughout the evening, Con Ed crews worked in temperatures close to 90 degrees to restore power. A Con Edison spokesperson told the Brooklyn Eagle that power was restored to all who lost it Sunday.

As dangerously high temperatures and poor air quality continue, NYC has extended its Heat Emergency Activation Plan. To find a cooling center, call 311 or visit the NYC Cool Options website.
