BED-STUY —  A SHOOTING INCIDENT that ended in a standoff between the gunman and police officers in a Bed-Stuy apartment was resolved without any deaths, reports amNY. Officers responding to a 911 call on the night of July 3 rescued a man with bullet wounds in his hip and rear, as well as two uninjured children, before locating the gunman in a back room of the apartment. As the victim was transported to Interfaith Hospital in stable condition, the shooter “barricaded” himself in and engaged in a standoff with the police. The NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit were then sent in to negotiate, and the shooter surrendered peacefully within half an hour.

“The cops were moving in with shields, they came out with him a short time later,” one neighbor told amNY. Police said charges are pending as the investigation is ongoing.
