NATIONWIDE — NEW YORK SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER, a resident of Park Slope, was one of the top national officials threatened by former President Donald Trump in a social media post on his Truth Social website over the weekend, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Trump promoted two posts on his website that called for hauling Schumer and other political opponents before televised military tribunals and imprisoning them as traitors.

Other elected officials threatened by Trump include President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Mitch McConnell, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Rep. Liz Cheney, former Representative Adam Kinzinger and more.

The Biden campaign denounced Trump’s threats in a statement, adding, “The Supreme Court has now paved the way for him to do exactly what he is saying he will if he wins.”

On Tuesday, Schumer celebrated his role in bringing a $40 million federal investment to a Buffalo-Rochester-Syracuse Tech Hub, which he called “a monumental day for upstate New York.”

The Brooklyn Eagle has reached out to Sen. Schumer’s office for a comment on Trump’s threat.
