NAVY YARD — THE NETHERLANDS’ KING Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima earlier this month traveled to Brooklyn on a sustainability-focused business trip, visiting the Navy Yard on June 13 to tour several “clean tech” startups. The couple spoke with entrepreneurs at the Newlab incubator space about investment in, commercializing and accelerating eco-friendly technologies. The New York Post reports that the royals also toured areas of Flatbush and Brooklyn Heights, talking with locals about climate change and the housing crisis, as well as stopping for a photo op on the Heights Promenade. The goal of the trip was to encourage cooperation between New York and the Netherlands.
