Trainee firefighter rescues Bensonhurst man

BENSONHURST — A TRAINEE FIREFIGHTER helped to rescue a Bensonhurst man from a blazing house fire on Saturday morning, reports amNY; rookie Joe Tenteromano and a team from Ladder Company 172 discovered the critically injured man while searching the 62nd Street home and carried him to safety, before performing CPR outside until paramedics arrived. The fire was reported around 8 a.m., and around 60 responding firefighters were able to bring it under control by 8:39 a.m.
The FDNY says that its Fire Marshals are investigating the origin of the blaze.
