Maimonides Health set to open new Advanced Cardiac Care Center in Midwood

MIDWOOD — THE GRAND OPENING AND RIBBON-CUTTING ceremony for Maimonides Health’s new card new cardiac services and catheterization lab at Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital will take place next Monday, July 1. This addition expands the expertise of the hospital’s world-class Heart & Vascular Institute to Midwood and surrounding communities, combining the expertise of Maimonides cardiologists with an extensive suite of advanced diagnostic tools and the latest high-tech therapeutic intervention capabilities. The new Advanced Cardiac Center will enable Maimonides to provide more timely lifesaving cardiac care, both urgent and nonurgent, to patients in Brooklyn. Several community leaders are expected to join Maimonides President and CEO Ken Gibbs and top cardiology department specialists Barry Stern, president and CEO of Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital, Robert Frankel, M.D., Director of Interventional Cardiology, and Jacob Shani, M.D., Chair of Cardiology.
