Colleagues in Sefton (Southport) are considering producing an SPD for short-term lets across the entire Borough. The proximity of parts of the much larger Borough to Liverpool City Centre is creating some issues, including high density hostel style occupation of residential properties and/or party house style problems. Rather than reinventing the wheel they are seeking example of SPDs, lessons learnt or any past or ongoing experience that might help inform the development of an SPD to managed problem developments without necessarily impacting unduly on positive developments, for example, the growing trend of converting struggle serviced B&B/guesthouses to short-term lets.
