With 12 miles of scenic Lancashire coastline, between the rivers Ribble and Wyre, Fylde Borough offers an attractive mix of open countryside, small rural villages and the traditional seaside town of Lytham St Annes.

The council has given priority to develop art in the borough through the establishment of two new part time arts development officers to deliver two distinct roles.

Programme and Events – will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of partnerships across the borough to grow the arts infrastructure and artistic developments. As part of this you will identify and develop opportunities for commissioning creative activities along with assisting with the organisation and delivery of major events.

Collections – will act as lead officer responsible for the day-to-day management of the Council’s Art collection. You will be responsible for the safe and appropriate storage of the art collection and to increase public access to, and promotion of the art collection through exhibitions, events and activities. You will also produce and deliver a conservation action plan.

Both post holders will be expected to identify and maximise the opportunities for bringing in external funding to help deliver arts initiatives.

You will be joining our newly formed Parks, Leisure and Culture Division which includes Tourism, Parks and Sports Development, Parks Operations, Coastal and Bereavement Services. The council is committed to delivering a high quality customer focussed service and these roles will allow the successful candidates to make an important contribution to enhancing the cultural offer of the borough.
