DCMS Review of the Gambling Act 2005 Terms of Reference and Call for Evidence closed 31 Mar 21

The government is reviewing the Gambling Act (2005) to ensure our regulatory framework can protect children and vulnerable people, prevent gambling related crime, and keep gambling fair and open in the digital age.

The review looks at both online and “land based ” gambling. Although the wide ranging review is looking at issues like protection, the regulatory framework and enforcement the issue it is address may have a direct or indirect material impact on land base gambling and therefore on property usage, economic development and regeneration, especially but not exclusively in popular coastal destinations where arcades, casinos and other similar premises are more common and form a more significant part of the visitor and resident attraction.
