    The Pod of Easter

Written by (AFOL , silver-rated reviewer) in United States,

This little chicken was the last of the pods of its kind (aside from any retail pods) before they retired. But before they were all gone, we were given a small freebie for Easter.

    Pod

A little joy of Easter as the front of the pod is lenticular of the little chicken girl hatching out of the pod.

Opening the pod has a place to put the minifigure on, with an already glued in sticker on one side, as the other is a small ramp in nature.

Unlike the pods from Ninjago, Friends, and Star Wars, you lay the pod down to play, instead of standing looking more like a display piece. And it truly looks so much better compared to them, almost as if you could take it out and place it somewhere in a park of your LEGO City.

Having a stream of water flowing on one side of the model, and nice plants on the other side of the model. The set even includes a rabbit on wheels and a trophy. You can keep everything attached when you close the pod.

    Little Chicken

This is a very cute little costume with bright light yellow being a fitting colour for the costume. The face under the costume is adorable with such a happy face blushing. She comes with roller-skate to have fun with the rabbit.

    Overall

It's a bit sad that these pods retired when they started going for this style with them, as this would've made them more of a fun thing to have and take around for kids, instead of only being the minifigure and the accessories.

Though it's no longer a promotional freebie, I would still recommend getting your hands on this one, as it's nice to have.

    Cute scene

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in Germany,

As far as polybag freebies go, this one is quite nice. The scene of a kid in chicken costume and a rabbit roller-skating down a ramp is definitely avant-garde. Yet, the design succeeds in illustrating the joy of spring in an Easter holiday colorama complete with the egg-pod, rabbit, chicken, trophy, and colorful garden. The lenticular image of the kid hatching from the egg on the lid of the pod is an interesting touch although I am not sure if it makes a lot of sense. The parts for the set are delivered in a soft bag inside the pod Kinder-Suprise style. The build is moc style and won't take long. The chicken costume minifig is very detailed and could fit well in a costume party scene. The rabbit is cute. The ingenious part of the pod is how the minifigure can be position on a stand and the pod closed with all the relief in place inside which provides playability for a child besides the ability to reposition the characters around the ramp scene. The pod with the build inside has an unexpected heft to it, since the entire set is packed in a small volume.

To sum it all up, the pod delivers spring fresh cuteness in spades. It would make a nice gift for minifigure collectors and little girls who would appreciate the characters and colors. Most definitely one of the more unique non-pretentious promotional Easter sets out there.
