Very stylish and delightful ... showing the power of the Lucasfilm + Lego collaboration

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United Kingdom,

I was very happy building this. It's so stylish and very impressive, and very satisfying.

The design, I couldn't help thinking, was rather a striking achievement, and it's one of those things where the work of the Star Wars designers plus the work of the Lego designers comes together beautifully - so it's a really powerful testament to the Lucasfilm + Lego collaboration. Because the Lego company on its own doesn't, frankly, produce such beautiful designs. They do great stuff, but this design is exceptional. For example, the use of colours is very particular - mostly white but with the stylish red stripes cutting across, and some light grey. The colours are not garish, and the design is attractive but also functional - it makes sense as a spaceship that people would actually fly in.

But - to hand credit back to the Lego designers - this is executed in Lego extremely well as well, with some great SNOT (Studs Not On Top) work around the engines, and many other very nicely done features. I do love those engines, with the transparent light blue coming out of them; they look fantastic.

The four minifigs are all very nice with great attention to detail. The ship is only able to actually seat two of them, which is the kind of thing that I have found annoying in other sets, but I can forgive in this one.

The set does use some stickers, which I don't usually like at all, but these are ok. Generally I leave them off, but I applied the wing stickers here and they do look good. You have to be super-careful to put them on straight, of course.

Overall this is an extremely nice spaceship, and a very fine Lego set. Well done, everybody.

    Very fun build.

Not famuliar with this ship but man was it a fun build.  All fives for this guy.  Great figures, reasonable price, great playability, fun build, great looker, and the only down side I have at all is the bottom of the ship isn't to great.   But for the mid grade price tag it is a huge thumbs up.

    Beautiful space ship!

Written by (Unspecified , bronze-rated reviewer) in United States,

    Awesome....

This is why I love Lego. Even if you don't care about Star Wars, this is just a beautiful space ship! Really cool looks with the three engines and cockpit pod...Great classic sci-fi space colors. I don't like all the wierd neon colors that have been popping up lately. Cool rotating friction mechanism. Really interesting and elegant construction...so simple yet so functional. Also, the minifigs are cool, I suppose. Im excited because of all the great wing plates will be super useful for my MOCs. Only problem though is the price. At $60 for less than 400 pieces, I had to wait till I found it at Target on sale for $42. Even then, price seems steep. I guess it's OK if you consider some specialized pieces and the rare minifigs...

Pros: Awesome spaceship design, Inspirational construction.

    Cons: Price.

    The shuttle has landed

Written by (TFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in United Kingdom,

The t-6 jedi shuttle is the set to get for early 2011. Heres why...

Firstly, the minifigures are quite detailed and most immpressive. We have seen anakin before, but the others are either unique or rare. Obi wan is exelent for enhancing your clone army, Senseii Tiin good for a jedi and Shaak tii interesting to have.

The actual shuttle has many features, such as being able to rotate the wings for flying or landing, flick missiles hidden and a detatchable cockpit. The instructions had no mistakes or errors so this is good too. I recomend this set. Hope this review helped.

    Jedi!

Written by (TFOL) in United States,

I got this set at Toys R Us on sale for $45. I would only advise getting this set if you can find it on sale. It was one of my first star wars sets and I love all the Jedi. It is a great way for people who are new to lego star wars to get some jedi

    Box/Instructions

    Nothing wrong here

    Parts

    Mostly just red and white.

    Minifigures

Each one is Awesome! The new Saesee Tiin and Shaak Tii are amazing

    The build

Average. It took 30 minutes to complete.

    The completed model

Great! Love the detail in the rear. The cockpit can only sit two Jedi though. The wings are pretty fragile but if they fall off it's an easy fix. I never get tired of rotating the wings.

    Summary

I first thoght this looked like an ugle pile of bricks, but now that I have it, it looks really cool. Buy it if you can find it on sale!
