    The Ghost

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

A phenomenal build and long-awaited remake of a beloved set from many years ago, this set delivers basically everything you could want from a Ghost remake, other than a rather lacklustre minifigure selection.

A Pretty Great Star Wars sets - One of the Best this Year!

Written by (TFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in United States,

This is a review of Lego Set 75357 Ghost & Phantom II. I will be looking at it from a Lego Collector’s standpoint. I will also be keeping in mind this set is also made for younger kids, though, I will mostly focus on it from a collector.

    Building Experience

I built this set a hot second ago so I don’t fully remember how it went. Some parts need to be aligned a certain way which made the set a little harder to put together. There was also a bit of technic which can sometimes be a bit hard to put together. I don’t think I made any mistakes so I thought the flow went well. A piece popped off though when I was aligning some pieces. I was a bit surprised the Phantom II was built in the first bag instead of the last. That can make sense as you would want the main build to be the last. Having the Phantom II be last might discourage you from building it. 4/5 building experience.

    Parts

The cockpit pieces in the new dark blackish blue color are nice to have. This set includes an inquisitor hilt piece which is nice to have. I’m disappointed that one of the cockpit pieces had a sticker instead of a print. The sticker wasn’t a nightmare for me, but I could see it begin one for someone else. The engine pieces used for this set are from Ninjago sets released earlier this year. I think they look very good. They come in a $10 set so they shouldn’t be that hard to get. (Unless that said set is retiring.) The new 4569 piece comes in white in this set. This piece has also appeared in the E-wing and Shin Hati set. The palisade piece (30136) comes in olive green in this set. It’s a nice piece to use when making buildings. It might appear in the Museum modular, not too sure. 4/5

    Minifigures

This set has plenty of boring characters. The Mon Calamari head is nice to have though. I would’ve really liked to see another figure whether is be Ahsoka, Sabine, Zeb, or even Kanan. I feel like they needed one extra important character. Jacen is definitely a disappointment. Lego should definitely release another version of this set with Jacen’s hair as green. Maybe, it’s just too hard to color that hairpiece green in time. Chopper and Hera are good figures. Chopper looks a bit goofy with that 1x1 round tile thought it can be easily removed.

    Playability

It has plenty of interior space. The gun launcher has interesting mechanics. The Phantom II can be separated which can be fun. 4/5. Seems like a fun set but nothing epic.

    Comparison to the 2014 Version

This set just pops more than the 2014 version. It also seems more tiled off than the older version. It also looks much sleeker. This set also has so much more interior space. Unfortunately, the new one does not include the escape pods and turning top gun. I’m a bit split on the figures between the two. I like the older figure selection but there’s no Chopper unfortunately. I’ll go with the 2023 version in figure selection for now. For some reason, the 2014 Ghost is worth a lot. It’s $400 new and $130 used. I can understand the figures being valuable though this is just absurd for how it is a lesser build.

There is also no Phantom. Some have criticized the inclusion of the Phantom in the 2023 set. Though, I do believe it completes the look. It definitely gives the complete package. Hopefully, we’ll get a better scaled Phantom in the future.

    Value

It’s harder to justify this set for $160 especially when you have the Millennium Falcon. Even the Justifier is bigger than this set. It’s a very nice build. I think $160 when there’s a good promotion is a good price for this set. $130 would be lovely. $150 would be ideal. Though, I think this set can live and sell well at $160. 4/5 here.

    Final Statement

A good build and good model. A good set to pick up for Rebels fans. A superior version of a ship that has not been around for too long. I think this will not disappoint if you decide to pick it up. It’s probably the best value out of all the Ahsoka sets. The E-wing and Shin Hate Starfighter set has a few weird ship and also not greatest Minifigures. The Ahsoka’s T-6 shuttle is missing an entire half of it and has disappointing figures. All who desire this set will enjoy it.
