LEGO Star Wars - A-wing Fighter

Written by (AFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Spain,

The A-wing Fighter set (7134) is a LEGO Star Wars set which came out in 2000. It comes with 2 minifigs and 125 pieces. This set does include no decals and there're no mistakes in the instructions and no missing pieces.

    Minifigures:

A-wing pilot: The a-wing pilot comes with a green uniform with some cool markings on his torso. He has green pants and a black belt and black hands. He has a dark grey helmet with some red and white markings. The pilot also comes with a transparent yellow visor. On his face you can see a headset.

Technician: The technician comes with a tan uniform, tan pants and a tan cap. He also has a black beard, and he has a wrench in his hand.

    A-wing Fighter:

The a-wing fighter is really fun to build. On the front you can see some slopes which have a small logo of the rebels. On each side you can see a turret which does sviwel. The cockpit opens easily, and you can see the controls on the inside and the pilot fits in there very nicely. The boot does open as well, and you can see a container which you can put out. The container does open.

At the back you can see the engines and underneath the a-wing you can see some landing gear. The whole model is very sturdy. What is also interesting about the old instructions for the LEGO Star Wars theme is that you can find a few pictures of the film.

    Alternative builds:

These are some ideas which we get. There're no instructions for them in this set. You can find these ideas on the back of the box or on the instructions.

    Positive:

Great pieces which you can use for brickfilms or MOC's
    Minifigs
    Nice army builder
    No stickers
Alternative builds which you can find on the back of the box or in the instructions
    Very sturdy

    Negative:

I have nothing to complain about that model.

All in all, it's a great set to get, and I would highly recommend you to get this model. You can find this set on eBay and BrickLink for sure. Here is the link where you can check out the full gallery I made for this set on my website: www.klokriecher.de

Written by (Unspecified , bronze-rated reviewer) in United Kingdom,

This set is simply the best before lego star wars started making special pieces.I love this set so much ,its small, nimble and great for any type of collection. Its also the oldest set I have ,even though I dont have the box (because i got it off ebay) its still in my top 10 favorites .

    pros
    2 figures
    cheap at the time
storage box that can go inside(and if you have a crane you can load it on with that!!)
    clear cockpit
    printed bricks
tools like a spanner and binocles

    cons
yellow people though it wasnt until 2005 when they changed it to cream
    bit blocky

If you find this set either on ebay, sale or in your attic make sure you get it as its great.

  • Love the A-wing

Written by (Unspecified , rhodium-rated reviewer) in United States,

This is an ultra-cool set to have in your Star Wars collection. I prefer this one over the new one because it came with a mechanic. The A-wing is very detailed from top to bottom. I like the cockpit and the little box for storage. This set is really awesome and should be owned by any Lego Star Wars fan.

  • SMALL, SLEEK AND SUPER

Written by (Unspecified , rhodium-rated reviewer) in {Unknown},

I love this set. The rebel A-Wing is barely seen in the movie and is one of the under-rated vechiles, as it is only featured in ROTJ for a short while. I forgot to mension in another thread (snowspeeder) about who much I like the A-Wing as a small ship. It has the storage compartment, the cockpit and the A-Wing pilot along with a maitanence rebel. I love this set and I reakon it has no downsides. This set is also nicely worked for a under-featured set.

  • A nice set for a neglected Star Wars vehicle

Written by (Unspecified , rhodium-rated reviewer) in {Unknown},

This, along with the B-wing, are the most under-rated ships of the Rebel fleet. If you have read some of the comments below, the A-Wing was important in the ROTJ, although it was only briefly shown.

A nice little set that comes with a pilot and a mechanic. The vehicle itself is solid and highly playable (the windshield and the hatch in the back open up). Although the overall look is a little on the bland side, this is made up with the high playablility and "swoosh" value of this set. Considering it has 123 pcs and was sold for only US$14.99 (although selling for a lot more now), this set was a great value and should be in everyone's collection!
