    Cyber Blast from the past

    Written by (AFOL) in Germany,

If I remember correctly, this impulse buy was available before the official start of the UFO theme, which was announced for September '97. But then, this popped up out of nowhere, and I was excited to get my hands on the new thing. Curiously, the background for box and instructions is still from the Epxloriens setting, while the green-goo theme of Zotax was in the catalogue since January.

    Parts

This came with the then brand new printed UFO screen slope - yes one more of these where the console is turned around facing opposite to the pilot -, tile and robot minifig, which had small details you've never seen before. Also noteworthy, the dish piece, which wasn't common in such tiny sets.

    Playability

As with most little spacecraft, it is swooshable. You can adjust the angle of the instruments, and our robot friend gets a space torch for... space torching, I guess? Fun thing, the parts allow you to rebuild it into a USS Enterprise-like mini-build.

    Value for money

Not good at only 19 pieces for this price, but not unusual for the smallest package size.

    Personal thoughts

A perfect tie-in to the UFO theme. With all the parts that were new back then, you can easily see how important impulse buys can become. Also, the model looks kinda neat withe wide dish at the front and the trans-neon green cones looking like headlights, this is a change from the usual space dart form. You can also imagine it hovering just one foot above the ground (it didn't come with any name in Germany as the smallest impulse buys weren't in the catalogue).

How could it have been better?

Not much space for improvement here, maybe a neon stud for the space torch.

    Hmmmm

Written by (Unspecified , platinum-rated reviewer) in United States,

This set does not look very much like an actual ship and it is reasonably small. The hover feature at the bottem is pretty cool, and the droid minifigures are always neat, especilally this blue one. His blaster is quite cool also.

    a nice space set

Written by (Unspecified , bronze-rated reviewer) in United States,

i got this when i was a small child, and thus lost the instructions, but while browsing on brickset, came upon it. i have used the robot in it to create many things, and it goes well with any space themed vehicle. i think this is an awesome set, although small, and if available, you should buy it!

    Another little UFO

Written by (Unspecified , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Brazil,

The Ufo sets are classics, but some, very little. This minifigure is different, and the vehicle have pieces also used in ufo promos, like the space craft. It have translucent green pieces. The minifigure hangs a weapon, that can't shot nothing, but have a cool design.

I Saw a UFO, But Nobody Believed Me

Written by (Unspecified , platinum-rated reviewer) in Australia,

Just finished rebuilding this one so figure ill do the review at the same time. The name of this model amuses me, as I thought "Cyber Blaster" would have been for a more dangerous looking model but it still works.

Well this model is a small scout ship. It uses a satellite dish as a hover disk, Has a long gun either side of the ship and possibly the best part of all, the front piece is painted on. The control panel is on a hinge for play convenience and its quite detailed too. Again Painted, not stickered.

The mini-fig is a blue alien with grey/ black uniform and lots of detail on it. He is also holding a "Blaster" which really could have used a fluoro piece of some sort but most models this size dont seem to get hand weapons in space so i guess we are just lucky this time.

Overall another nice space model and worth of your space collection. I feel this one is a 5/10, Average, but what do you expect from a $3 AU model. Fits in nicely with any space series or just into any general play.
