I really like this small pirate ship for some reason. I have built it, taken it apart, built something similiar, taken that apart, built a base using many of the pieces including the hulls, taken that apart, and I just built another something similiar, and that is how I currently have it. Minifigures in this set are the rare female pirate, the uncommon white shirted, green vested guy, and the everywhere Redbeard. A good Pirate starter, or add on, hey, it's pretty useful!

    Lego Steve's Review

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United Kingdom,

The dreaded Cross Bone Clipper, the most hated of all pirate ships, put simply this set is very small, too small. Personally I like this set a lot (I have a thing about small ships) but I can see its flaws, the spacing is very cramped, Lego stupidly decided to design the rudder so that it would move from the inside of the ship, the problem with that, we lose even more space, the red sail looks a little childish and I don’t like the figurehead on the front.

Our original Captain used to sail in mighty ships and to see him reduced to this is a little sad, but at least he has his wench back (I missed her), the biggest problem of the set was the price, I remember it being a very expensive set at the time, and when opened from the box, it’s no surprise to feel let down. I changed the sail and figure head and used it as a trading vessel, much more satisfying.

    Uuuuhhhhh

Written by (Unspecified) in United States,

I bought this because of the unique color scheme of the bow and stern sections LOL.

You get what you pay for, which is not much with this set - you get the stupid rope with the stud ends that split if you stick it onto too many studs, and you get a cool sail with red and white stripes - good for anyone who wants a nice set of 12-stud bow and stern sections - it would be nice to use these bow and stern sections to make a custom "Renegade Runner".

By far the worst pirate set

Written by (Unspecified) in United States,

this is by far the worst lego pirate set, the ship is poorly made and oviously made hastily. there are two steering mechanisms. its pretty much hull pieces and a few bricks and a mast. the only reason i want this set is so it can get blown away by my other ships
