    A fine gift indeed...

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

One of my neighbors dropped by and gave me this as a gift today! I had seen it on brickset, but seeing as how I don't own a gaming system anymore, had given it up as a polybag not for me. Anyhow my friend has been working part time at GameStop, and they had a surplus, so he snagged me one.

    On to the review.
The minifigure has 2 faces, 1 stern, and the other shouting, he came with a hairpiece featuring a braid and ears, a nice olive cape and a gold bladed staff.
His body has printing on both sides with gold and silver accents. Very royal looking.
    The legs also feature printing.
Overall, a nice figure if you can get your hands on it. Made a nice addition to my mirkwood elf and bags end sets.

    Elrond; the Elven King

Written by (AFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Netherlands,

Overall 5 bricks : I got my first LOTR "set" by coincidence when I bought (no pre order) the LOTR DS game for my son. Now why review a single minifigure ? Simply because it's a great one and worth the review and 5 bricks. Just over a month old and already a collectors-item certainly if you keep it bagged which I didn't. Assembled and ready to be admired or used in a MOC it's more valuable to me. This figure is the first in my LOTR quest, many (probably all of them) will follow.

Building 1 brick : Just like CMF's it is assembling, not building so 1 brick.

Parts 5 bricks : All great parts starting with the great hairpiece with elf-ears. Elrond's head is double faced with a shout and a grin, he shows some similarity with the movie. The unique torso and legs look great with underneath it I think an anguish. There is some discussion concerning the cape, but I think this small Dark Blue one fits the figure. The Golden sword looks awesome and a fierce weapon. I'm already curious how he will appear in The Council of Elrond.

Playability 4 bricks : The single figure has no playability but because it will be so usefull in LOTR setup's and other MOC's I reward it with 4 bricks.

Value 5 bricks : Getting it for free is already worth 5 bricks, if you see the value already after some months it will only increase. It is now already (still bagged) worth some € 25,00 so try and buy the game with the free Elrond polybag as long as it is available !!

    Elrond Halfelven Immortal and Elven-wise

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

As a LOTR nut from way back, I was disappointed in this minifig when I received
the short cape version. Yes, it was free, but I really bought the game to get the figure.  I haven’t been able to get past the lava room…..  That said, I used the missing part function of Lego.com to ask for the correct cape and noting that Elrond looked silly with the short cape.  I received the part 6024597 and a personalized, very cute letter from Lego.  The new cape is perfect with the slimmer design in the shoulders.  Elrond now looks like a leader of elves and men and can stand with Glorfindel (from Helm’s Deep) with pride.

    Amazing Polybag

Written by (TFOL) in United States,

I am a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings so I couldn't pass up the chance to get this polybag.(especially since i was going to get the video game anyway)

The fig is flawlessly produced. The torso is well printed and the legs go well with it. (unlike some)

For me, the main focus of the fig is the elven spear. For some reason I thought that the staff part got larger at the top, just before the blade. Not so. A seamless transition is due for this kind of minifig. Personally, I can't wait to see what others use this piece for in MOCs.

Overall, The set is a buy. the only downside is that the cape is shorter than is shown on the front image. Never the less, a call to Lego quickly remedied that situation. I would even pay money for this set.

    Hoped that this helped!

    Phenominal Minifig!

Written by (TFOL) in United States,

This is a very good exclusive set. It is only available with the pre-order of The Lord of the Rings video game, as you may already know.

    Elrond is a fantastic minifigure!

He comes with great parts in all ways.

First off, he is the first minifig to wield the new elven blade part.

He has a pearl gold torso (with gold arms and flesh hands). The torso has printing on both sides, with great detail everywhere.

He has olive green legs (which is a very rare leg color). Along with the torso, the legs have very good printing.

He is also the first minifig to have brown elf hair (which is a very intricate and awesome piece BTW).

He is has a double sided head, one side is a casual smile and the other side seams to be a yelling emotion.

All these this are great, but there is one problem to this minifig. He comes with a SHORT cape, instead of the long cape he is pictured with. Nonetheless he is only the second minifig to have a dark blue short cape (Barriss Offee being the first).

Regardless of the cape being short, Elrond is one of my favorite minifigures of all time!
