The Rock Raiders (4930) is a LEGO Rock Raiders set which came out in 1999. It comes with 5 minifigs and 46 pieces. This set does include no decals and there're no mistakes in the instructions and no missing pieces. This set also has a comic book.


Minifigures:

Sparks: Sparks comes with an orange overall with some green markings on it and some tools. He has a grey helmet with black goggles and on his face you can see red hair and a beard.

Bandit: Bandit comes with a black helmet, blue pants, and a red shirt with a green overall on it. On his face he has a blue headband and a brown beard.

Axel: Axel comes with a brown helmet and a transparent yellow visor. He has dark grey pants and a black belt. Axel also got a black shirt with a dark grey overall. On his face he's got orange hair and a smiley face.

Docs: Docs comes with a dark grey overall, a dark grey hat, a black bandanna. He has brown hair on his face and glasses on the top of his hair.

Jet: Jet comes with a blue shirt with dark grey overalls, blue pants, a dark grey helmet and a transparent yellow visor. On her face you can see white hair and a headset. Jet is the only female miner LEGO ever made. I haven't seen any female miners in the Power Miners theme.

Accessories:

The accessories we got are a double-sided chain saw with a handle where the minifig can hold it. We also got a pair of binoculars, a walkie-talkie, a hammer, a drill, a screwdriver, a wrench and a computer. We also get a huge rock which can be opened. On the inside you can see a crystal. What is a little bit disappointing about this set is that the Rock Raider captain, who you've seen in the video game, doesn't appear in this set. I also think this set is more an accessory to your LEGO Rock Raiders and to your LEGO Power Miners collection, but I would buy the other sets of those two themes first before you buy this set.

Speed Build

This set I bought with my first allowance and I really got a kick out of it. At that age I really got into legos so I bought this to start my collection. I like the fact that it had minifigures and tools which I had never had. One of the foundation sets for me. Great to have.

I never owned any rock raiders except for this minifig pack. I regret this tremendously, as these are THE BEST MINIFIGS EVER CREATED. I don't know what it is, but they are just great. I was at the cusp of my lego dark ages, this may have been one of the last sets I purchased (right before high school started.) I think now I am back on the circuit I will go buy some other sets!

My First R and R set. This was a really good set. All the Characters in one set with some extras. I got this a Zellars for 99 cents

This is a summary of the story line for the series, followd by a quick review of the set.

The storyline for the series is about an intergalactic mining squad called the Rock Raiders, who, traveling aboard the massive mothership the LMS Explorer (perhaps the LMS means Lego Media Systems...), get hit by an incoming meteor being pulled into a massive black hole, sending them into the wormhole as well, rocketing them across the Universe to another unkown galaxy. Since the ship's systems are damaged they are unable to return without the required fuel, energy crystals. Geological scanners detect that the nearby terrestrial planet is loaded with the crystals they need. The ship stations itself over the planet, teleporting down a team of miners and geologists, who go forth to mine out the crystals. The planet contains many underground rivers, lava flows, caverns, and in some cases, arctic-like regions deep underground. They must collect all the necessary materials in order to repair the ship and return home. The six characters (five of which are in this set) are as follows: Jet, the pilot (female); Axle the driver (black torso, brown helmet); sparks the engineer (orange, you can't miss him); Bandit the Helmsman and Boatsman (red torso); Docs the geologist (dark gray with bandana); and the cheif (not included, hard to find).

This set has the five characters, sparks is actuall pretty rare, and so is this set. Now it is much more expensive than ever, but at its original price (approx. $10) was a steal! The set has loads of tools and a control panel, as well as five, yes five (5!), minifigures. This is an excellent booster pack, very similar to the unnaturaly coveted star wars battle packs. For any collector, this is a must have.
