A new Batmobile for a new Era.

Written by (AFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Canada,

Set #30446 The Batmobile: Representing the vehicle design from BvS Dawn of Justice, this little polybag has a lot going for it and very little to detract from it. Read on below to see the quick pros and cons and then the overall opinion.

    Pros:

    • Fun model to play with.

    • Excellent design with simple build and good approximation of the larger model from the film.

    • Good price-per-piece ratio.

    Cons:

    • Nothing really of note, it’s a decent model representing a Batmobile seen on screen and has no issues to speak of, aside perhaps of easily lost parts if you smash it up while playing with it.

    Overall opinion

Excellent Polybag from 2016. Highly recommended if you haven’t already picked this beauty up.

    Batmobile!

    Box/Instructions

As expected, it comes in a normal small little package with afolded instruction booklet.

    Parts

The majority of the parts are black (with a few very, very dark grey) parts, including some interesting curved, angled, and sloped pieces. Nothing stands out as fantastic, but there is definitely some MOC potential.

    Minifigures

    None. Sadly.

    The build

It's a surprisingly fun build for such a small set. You can see it coming together and it's fun to see all the different ways pieces are attached.

    The completed model

The final build looks good from most angles, but from straight above, it looks kind of fat, with some openings that shouldn't be there. It is fun to roll around on a table, and it pretty accurate to the movie Batmobile. It looks good!

    Overall opinion

If you're a fan of small polybag builds, and like DC superheroes, get this now! Or if you need some small interesting black parts. Or if you just have $4 to spare. It's one of the best polybags around right now.

    30446- The Batmobile

    Building Experience-4/5

For a polybag, the building experience is better than most. The set uses the 'gun" piece and clip pieces to achieve some nice sloping parts in the midsection. The rest is fairly simple, but the lamp holders on the front are finnicky to align just right. Overall, the build experience takes longer than most polybags, but still no longer then 5 minutes.

    Parts -3/5

Nothing quite too special here, the parts are mostly black and extremely common, meaning that this set could be assembled from spare parts lying around.

    Playability-3/5

It's a car, so it rolls as rolling things should. All the wheels are rubber of course so traction is not a problem on hardwood or tile. Ground clearance may become an issue if you're trying to roll the batmobile on carpet. Overall though, nothing gets in the way of rolling.

    Value for money-3/5

It's inexpensive of course, rrp $3.99 USD and is worth $6 new and $3 used. However, buying a copy now is not necessary as it can be assembled with extra parts.

    Overall rating-3/5

It's not bad, but it's not great either. Because it's not very exciting perhaps and doesn't have any special play features, most will end up taking it apart anyway.
