I was looking for something in a box and found mr parroty man here. he was my favourite of this promotion, and he needs a review, even if its been 2 years since his release.

Parts

Nothing new here, but there is 1x1's with toe deign in Keetorange (i use bionicle colour terms) which only have appeared limited before. I like the 1x1 bricks with full out stud, and you get 4 of them. The orange 3x1 is nice in orange, and it is sloped with no studs, and it is quite rare too.

Build

Quite simple, but with a good use of SNOT techniqies and colours. The main red, some blue and yellow mix well, and the other colours blend in as well.

Finished Model

Wow.

An amazing turnout of a model, with wing articulation and tail movement, and a nice look. The grey in the legs is odd, but thats the only con.

Overall

Unfortunatley, the brickset ratings dont do it justice (he will bring vengance upon huw for not letting him get a 6) but he is amazing. BUY THIS TOY,YOU.

A great little set that will be underrated as its not got a mini fig with it, or themed

Pros:
Surprisingly large, good assortment of colours, apeals to my daughters (so many of these are boy orientated). First time I have ever seen 1x3 flat plates (red *2)

Cons:

When I see a small set in a poly bag, I don't usually have to look at the instructions to complete it. They're that simple. But this one is the exception. The supplied instructions divided the parrot into submodels for body, head, tail and wings. They feature some nifty building techniques with bricks at right angles to other bricks, and Technics pins to keep all together and allow some wing movement.

And for once a mix of your basic Lego primary colours fits the model just perfectly. There should be more Lego parrots!

Considering the purchase price was a mere 45p for a Daily Mirror newspaper, I'd say this was unbeatable.

I got this set from my local Tengelmann's for free. So it's good value for the money! ;-)

It's a nice little set - nothing heavy to build but solid structure and well designed. I like the colour scheme and how they designed the parrot's bill. It looks quite realistic. Just the parrot's "feet" have a strange colour - something between orange and yellow.

Overall, it's a set nice to have and to have it somewhere for decoration.
