    Lego Steve's Review

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United Kingdom,

This is the best tournament set to date (yep over twenty years old and not beaten, well the new kingdoms one is good too), it features an ample number of spectators, and two knights (each with a squire) and a peasant/barman.

It is also a good example of friendly completion between the Black Knights and the Crusaders. The set features a jousting bar, a spectators box, a weapon rack and a drinks space, this set has a lot with it and the potential to become much more, I would hazard a comment of LEGO perfection.

  • A Perfect Set

Written by (Unspecified , rhodium-rated reviewer) in United States,

I'm not a castle fan, but this set blows me away. This set has a grandstand for the monarchy and the joust area for the two knights. There is also a weapons shack which is pretty cool. Lego doesn't make sets like this anymore which is why it should be rereleased.

    Knight's Challenge Review

Written by (AFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in United States,

This is one of the few Castle sets with a rare female minifig. Even now, there still aren't many female minifigs in Castle, but there's more of them showing up.

In addition to the rare female minifig, you also get a peasant minifigure too. That he's at a keg of beer or ale, highly suggests that this Joust Set is taking place during a Faire which would also explain too the bright colors in this set.

I've enjoyed putting this set together and it's a wonderful break from all the Castles, Towers and Catapults that Lego puts out for this theme.

  • This is a classic castle set?

Written by (Unspecified , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Brunei Darussalam,

This must be the oddest classic castle set as it is one of the most colourful castle sets ever. Despite the dazzling array of colours though, it includes some rather interesting items. This is the first set with joust guide rail, and the first one with a beer keg. The pavillion is of an odd design but the weapon's rack is masterfully done. This could have been a good set if the use of colours were muted.
