    Great Set

    Written by (AFOL) in Canada,

I love this set, it's a great addition to the Modular Buildings line. The selection of mini figs is awesome. Really happy to get a set with all printed parts, no stickers.

    Beautifly designed set!

Written by (KFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in United States,

It took me a week to decide to get this set after it came out in January, and I am so glad I did it is a great set, and an awesome addition to the modular building collection. And I would definitely recommend buying this set! I love the look of four sided modular buildings. And this one is amazing! The designs are great from the 45 degree doorway to the tile patterns this set has overall a great design. The roof also looks amazing, and I think one of my favourite parts is the dressing room the couch looks great, and I also like the artful music sing above the couch. Building the window sills is very fun, and I love the stained-glass windows. The managers' office also looks cool with the record player the balcony and the old phone. That just expresses some of my thoughts about this set there are also so many other great things about this set that i haven't covered. And I love the old 60s look of the jazz club. My one negative is that you have to go back outside to access the stairs. Oh! And the pizzeria is also great! It also all printed pieces which is expected. This set overall is FANTASTIC!!!

Retro Jazz Club is finally here!

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in Indonesia,

Disclaimer: This set review is purely my opinion even though the set is provided for free by TLG due to my status as LEGO Community Ambassador.

This LEGO modular building from Creator Expert line is a retro building probably from the 60-70 era.

The building is consisting of three levels. There is actually the fourth level, but it is the rooftop with not much feature on it.

The layout for the ground floor (first floor for US) where you can see the entire content of the building from the club itself, the pizzeria and the front side of the building.

On the front right side of this set, we can see there is a lamppost, two chairs and a table with umbrella for the diners who buy pizza from the pizzeria. In front of the pizzeria, there are two canopies with nearly similar pattern with the umbrella. There is a wood panel decorated with plants and light illuminating the entrance to the pizzeria. There is a tailor signpost as well.

In front of the Jazz Club, we can see the entrance to the club with a ticket counter next to it. There is a poster featuring a Jazz Concert and on top of the entrance, there is a signboard informing live music all night with a magic show.

The interior of the Jazz Club is consisted of 6 chairs, 3 tables, lamps on the walls, a stage with curtains, saxophone and 3 spotlights for the stage. There is a backdoor to the back of the building and a stair to go into the upper level.

From the photo above, we can see there is a restroom beneath the stairs with sink, closet and toilet paper to be used by the visitors.

There is a hallway connecting the Jazz Club to the Pizzeria. There is no door on the hallway. The pizzeria is not that big and there are counter, oven, space filled with ingredients, spices and dough for the pizza.

When inspected closely, we can see a big oven used to cook the pizza. There is also a cash register. Next to the oven, there is a long rod used to put in and take out the pizza.

Layout of the first floor (second floor in US) can be seen from the photo above. There are three main rooms which are the Manager Office, hallway with staircase and the Tailor Shop.

In the manager office, there are two chairs, a work desk with vintage telephone and desk lamp. Next to the desk, there is a balcony with railing where the Manager can watch over the show on the ground floor of the Jazz Club.

On the corner of the building, there is a gramophone that plays vinyl record. On the wall, there is a painting which probably bought by the Manager from the El Cubo Fine Arts from the set 10297 Boutique Hotel.

In the hallway on the second floor, there are three doors. The door on the left side is to enter the Manager room. The door parallel with the staircase is used to access the balcony while the door on the right side is to access the tailor ship. The staircases seen is to go up to the next level.

Inside the tailor shop, we can see a fireplace. Strangely, the fireplace is connected with the oven from the pizzeria on the lower level. Does that mean the smell of the pizza will enter the tailor shop? Next to the oven is a standing lamp.

On one side of the room, there is a desk with drawers. On top of it is a number of fabric rolls used by the tailor. On the left side, there is a mannequin used to assist the tailor in creating clothing.

There is an Easter egg on this set. Do you notice something on the sewing machine there? It is actually a vintage sewing machine (from 2022 point of view). I will show you the brand of the sewing machine on next photo.

It is the Singer sewing machine which might be used by your mother or grandmother in the past. It is recreated by the designer up to the foot pedal at the bottom! Well done!

Layout of the third floor from the modular set 10312 consisting of the dressing room where the artists or performers prepare themselves to go on stage. There is a hallway and greenhouse on the right side of the building.

From the photo above, we can see the make-up table that usually used by artist. There are several drawers (can not be opened) on this table which are probably used to store make up equipment. There is a mirror surrounded by lights to assist the artists doing make-up. There is a red chair to be used by the artists.

On the other side of the dressing room, there is a big yellow sofa, a music sheet and a crate that probably used by the magician to store her equipment. On the wall above the sofa, there is a painting of musical note that might also be bought from the El Cubo Fine Arts from the set 10297 Boutique Hotel.

From the photo above, we can see there are two doors and one vertical ladder. One door is used to enter the dressing room while the other door is to access the greenhouse used by the chef from pizzeria to get fresh vegetables. The vertical ladder is used to go up to the rooftop.

From the photo above, we can see the greenhouse used by the chef from the pizzeria to plant fresh vegetables which he used on his pizzas. The greenhouse used black frames and see through glass on the top side.

There are various vegetables planted such as tomatoes, carrots and other vegetables. Seems like the tomatoes used new LEGO parts for the stems. The roof of the greenhouse can be opened.

You can notice the interior such as the Manager Room and Dressing Room are quite bright because they have a lot of windows. On the front side, there are also windows decorated with colourful mosaics.

From the photo above, there are not much feature on the rooftop. Only a squirrel with its nest. There is also a hinged door to access the rooftop. On the frontside of the rooftop, there are some decorations.

The minifigure of the bassist with the container used to store his music equipment.

The diva with her beautiful dress. She is holding a microphone ready to sing a song.

The pizza chef is quite old. He must have mastered the arts of making pizza!

The drummer is ready to perform on stage to assist the bassist.

This young man is the tailor. I wonder whether he is always getting hungry by smelling the pizza being cooked.

The manager of the club. She has a nice dress.

The magician come with 3 accessories. A white rabbit, top hat with flowers and combination of parts that resembles colourful fabrics used by magician.

The pizza delivery guy with his scooter, pizza and helmet as alternative headwear.

    Building Experience

This is enjoyable set to be built. We build it quite fast by having two people building it together simultaneously which you can view on our speed build video.

    Parts

Parts amount is not bad. If only there is another level above the tailor as well as the greenhouse to be located on the rooftop instead.

    Playability

Modular building will provide tons of playtime for children. If they are not playing this set, then it can be displayed.

    Value For Money

For price per parts, this set is quite reasonable. If you can wait until there is a discount, it is even better!
