LEGO Icons (Transformers) - Optimus Prime - Set 10302 - Review

Written by (AFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Spain,

This is LEGO set 10302 - Optimus Prime from the LEGO Icons (Transformers) theme with 1508 pieces, which came out in 2022.

The build is a lot of fun and there're a few stickers to worry about. The figure has movable arms, legs, feet and head. The coolest feature of this set is, that the transformer can be transformed into truck mode, as you can see in the speed build video. However, there might be some pieces that could fall apart, once you transform it. It's a fantastic display piece, and we even have a plaque for this character.

    Pro:

    - Playability
    - Displayability
    - Transforming feature

    Contra:

    - Stickers
    - Not the version from the Michael Bay film era

All in all, this set is a great set and I would HIGHLY recommend you to get this. You can find this set on eBay and BrickLink for sure. Here is the link where you can check out the full gallery I made for this set on my website: www.klokriecher.de

    Optimus Prime

    Written by (AFOL) in Netherlands,

I had a lot of fun building this set. I really like the size, attention to detail and overall look of this model. I wish his knees were articulated though, that would have made this model even better.

After I finished the main model I started to build the accessories. The energon cube is a bit silly and does not really add to the set. The energy axe looks awfull, but the jetpack is great and really makes Optimus prime look good. The same goes for the gun (a surprisingly interesting build).

I really, really hope LEGO will continue this series with more classic G1 transformers.
