First Modular - Amazing Interior Detail

Written by (AFOL) in United Kingdom,

This was my first modular and I decided to go for the Parisian Restaurant because I'd heard such good things about it and it seemed quite reasonably priced in comparison to the other modulars available at the time (Assembly Square, Corner Garage and Downtown Diner).

With this being my first modular, I was so impressed with the level of detail on the interior of the building, especially the ground level. Included here is a lovely restaurant and an extremely detailed kitchen, which was incredibly fun to build.

The first and second floors also have a great level of detail, but not quite as much as the ground floor, given that there is less space available. However, this is compensated for with the fantastic eating terrace which includes some period style lamps and some flowers.

I think I was most impressed with the exterior of the building, it has to be one of the best looking modulars in my opinion. The scale and size is just right and the details on the fornt of the building is great, it's especially impressive when you realise how these various looks have been achieved through the use of existing LEGO pieces.

If you're new to modulars then this is a great place to start, although you will be setting the bar rather high by doing so!

Combines a Classic Vehicle with a Modular Building Level of Detail

Written by (AFOL) in United Kingdom,

I had to buy this Lego set when I saw it online - it looks just like the real thing and has a decent part count for the price.

The only negative I have with this set is the roof, it's a little bit fiddly to fit properly and can be fragile when you move it once built - apart from that small niggle, this is a fantastic set with an incredible level of detail! I particularly like the curtains and mini kitchen.

I enjoyed the interior on this set so much that it actually persuaded me to buy my first modular building (Parisian Restaurant).

    Amazing set for the price!

    Impressive Yet Tedious Build

Written by (AFOL) in United Kingdom,

I want to start by saying that when built, this is a very impressive set and the overall size will most likely surprise you (in a good way). However, as far as the build goes, there are quite a few sections that are built in a very simialr way, although you may expect this given the style of the set.

In addition to this, the set seems quite fragile when built and if you buy this for a child, it probably wouldn't stay in one piece for very long.

I do like how the rocket can be separated into the various elements that make the set, this works really well and adds a certain level of playability for children.

Overall, it's not a bad set, but the building experience isn't great and it's quite tricky to get the set perfectly built due to the building techniques being quite unusual.
