    Everything is normal

Written by (AFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in Russian Federation,

It's branded as the "Lego Movie 2" set, but have literally nothing to do with the film – this model doesn't show up in any form, if I'm not mistaken, so Emmet's "scratches" seem strange in a set that doesn't have any postapocalyptic vibe and can be easily put in Lego City.

It's obvious this set was designed with the multiple models in mind and not one of them feels like a main, with the strange use of pieces or some parts sticking out. The racing car looks the best, IMHO, and I'm usually cold to the Lego cars, but this one is pretty distinct and unique looking; the exo-suit is awesome, just because it's an exo-suit. BTW, I didn't know that attaching non-wheels to the axle was legal.

Pieces included are variable mishmash, far from the basics. I especially love black and yellow stripe flat tiles, introduced in the "Ghostbusters" theme, which never were put in the set so small and might be the most desirable thing about this polybag.

Also, I must add that the model is back-heavy and prone to topple over.

    Bring me my yellow pants!

Written by (AFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in Russian Federation,

It turns out to be one of the most desirable sets and even I can't stand aside.

My childhood fell on the era of Space Police and Spyrius, so I missed the classic Space era and don't have to feel nostalgic about this set, but I kinda do. It still reminds me a little about simpler times.

Ok. 1st of all, this set has Benny!

A little disappointed to find him with so many dents (look closely at the line between torso and legs). I'm picking up my old minifigs and not one of them has such damage! And they are 20+ years old with heavy play horrors behind them.

Three classic smiley heads to give you that extra nostalgic punch.

    There aren't that many pieces.

They clearly drew inspiration from 885 - Space Scooter, 886 – Space Buggy and 6702 – Space Mini-Figures, but enhanced them with new pieces available. This includes metal detector too, which is represented with the modern mold.

I'm not sure most kids will find this set engaging, it has many role-play possibilities, but everything is so "retro", it can only rely on the characters included and we don't know anything about them yet.

    Spares:

I got this set for 3 reasons:

    1. Classic Space People.

    2. Benny!

    3. Yellow pants a.k.a. bare legs!

The parts are greater than a whole

Written by (AFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in Russian Federation,

[Disclaimer: this review was gathering dust for a few years :-P]

As usual with racing cars, I get it not because I wanted this particular model, but just because I wanted to get some Lego. I didn't even build it, though I must say that the main model and it's alternatives look very good.

But my, oh my, what a cool selection of pieces it has! They are ideal for making little space ships and futuristic aircrafts. When I opened the box, I started to assemble them randomly and couldn't stop.

Overall, pretty straightforward set with great variety of diverse and useful parts. If it was 2013, I'd recommend it with no hesitation, but nowadays I don't think it has any special value.

    The beginning of the adventure

Written by (AFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in Russian Federation,

A little boat, a little cache and a huge crowd of extras. Not counting three diverse minifigs, there is also a colorful band of critters: an alligator with the blue peg holding it's tail, a toad of a strange yellow color and a lime snake. Quite a gathering.

The builds themselves are noting special, but combined with "actors" provide vast opportunity for the role play.

Make a note that there's a spare machete! So you can arm all of the tough guys. And it's just a great tool to have. The "white coat" has two expressions: normal and scared. I find it hilarious. And as for now, he's my favorite.

I'm not a fan of excessive boat-cars sets, and sadly jungle theme of Lego is mainly vehicles combined with the small piece of scenery. But it has many interesting pieces (mainly critters), and, as I said, it's a huge sink for children's imagination. I wish they made it a little less "locomotive" and more stationary, though.

Apropos of this set, the only complain is a headpiece of the guy in a cap. It set so tight that I can't budge it! Good thing I stuck it straight.

The Good, The Bad, and The Rotten Mummy

Written by (AFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in Russian Federation,

I remember the time it was bought and the place. It was a gift for good grades. I chose it, because it had many interesting pieces: coins, scorpion, chain, map, rifle and skeleton with nemes. And I loved that it had 2 secrets: black chest, hidden in plain sight as a very appropriate jackal (Upwawet) statue, and mechanism to open the lid of the tomb. It was so simple, but worked really well. I don't know, though, why builders thought it's a necessary thing for a tomb to have.

Also, it has some ideas for alternative assembling. The shrine with chained skeleton has very creepy implications. And the picture of the skeleton in a top hat is self-explanatory.

It's a great little playset that has everything for an adventure. I think it holds up till this day.

I managed to find some of it. Mr Sinister Boots was chewed by my dog... a very long time ago...
