Excelent fit for the Lego farm theme
I'm not a big fan of minifigures wearing costumes. To me, it always felt artificial and hard to fit in existing sets. This is absolutely not the case here.
Carrot boy is the most fitting vegetable mascot possible, at least for this big farm/carrot theme that's present in lego sets nowadays. Put it in Farmers Market Van, Grocery Store, or even in smaller sets like Scarecrow, Park Tractor, or even just being a pair of the vegan lady, and he'll be having a good time.
For the minifigure itself, it nicely includes a pretty t-shirt under the costume, and it comes with a spare hairpiece to be used when the character is not wearing the costume.
One of the best minifigs of series 24 IMO, and a very nice fit to many sets.

Nice addition to a beach set
Ice Cream Saxophonist is great!
With an ice-cream-ball-head, ice-cream-cone-legs and colourful hands, it's the perfect balance between a playful fantasy band member and a supervillain.
My suggestion: put the sax aside in an instruments store and put the Ice Cream seller with the bike from 31131: Downtown Noodle Shop or with TLM127: Ice Cream Cone, or in any of the many beach set lego has, and you'll never know what he's up to!

Misleading number of pieces
This was my first adult set, which I had already read that they tend to be repetitive and straight-forward, without much room for creativity.
This is absolutely not the case here.
Even though the pot and the base may be a little repetitive, they are the smallest part of the set.
The bonsai trunk is very complex and unique, with somewhat difficult bits.
The leaves and blossoms may be a little repetitive (because there are many), but they absolutely leave room for creativity, you being the one shaping it, moving it, panning it as you wish. The end result has lots of "articulations" that you can play with.
The manual is well-made and has lots of curiosities.
The only lower point I can put is about the number of pieces. The box says 878 pieces, but there are 200 loose 1x1 circles that you just drop in the bonsai pot to act as pebbles, so those are not playable. Also, since there are 2 possible results (either green leaves or pink blossoms), you don't end up with an 800+ pieces set because some of it will be left aside. You end up with a ~450 pieces tree + 200 pebble rocks. This also leads to the set being quick to assemble.
Still, a very nice set. Fun to build, extremely hard to disassemble

Great ideas
I love classic sets and I love building houses, so I am absolutely the target for this set.
The pieces come in lots of shapes and colours that match very well with other classic sets (even old ones) if you happen to have some.
The manual ideas for me were very inspirational, showing me novel ways of assembling pieces to form a beautiful result, some that I never had thought about.

Good for display, bad for play
The dog is the highlight of this set. The Siberian Husky is very well portrayed, even with the blue eyes.
The shield and sword I honestly don't get. Probably a sled would be more appropriated.
Anyway, it requires some imagination to play with it in some set, since there are not many sets that have battlefields in the snow. Maybe you could use it in mediaeval sets, with it being a foreign warrior from faraway lands.....
