    Great Overall Geonosian Building Kit

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

This set is a great basic Geonosian kit and a fair amount of building time and minifigures are included. While i do consider $30 a bit too much, it still is a fair investment although i did purchase mine on sale for $20. Now on to each section

    Box/Instructions

The box design is well made. Decent size that fits the model design with a great backdrop to complement the action of the starfighter along with Jedi Ki Adi Mundi and Commander Cody. The back of the box doesn't show much worth mentioning other than additional picture angles of the set. The instructions are pretty basic and easy to follow. On the spot step by step instructions and pieces are organized very well by the numbered bags.

    Parts

The parts are pretty basic. Standard Geonosian brown, burnt orange, gray and black pieces. A few unique pieces such as the round engine on the back of the starfighter and laser. The parts are well designed to fit the design and accuracy of the final product.

    Minifigures

The set includes some excellent figures. We first of all get Jedi Master Ki Adi Mundi who comes with his blue lightsaber. His torso contains backprinting for more detail. And he comes with his own unique headpiece on top of the standard lego head which blend well with each other. Next we have Commander Cody. He comes with many pieces for his helmet including binoculars and radio communication. Again detailed backprinting on his torso. And well appreciated design on his head even with a helmet covering it. Last we have a Geonosian Pilot. A fair amount of detail on his figure most notably his headpiece. Nothing too special or eye catching. No weapon included sadly. Overall a well balanced cast of minifigures and detail.

    The build

The starfighter was an overall fairly easy build. Nothing too complex or fancy. The cockpit and the hull of the ship has almost the same construction and form. Clever piece by piece design and construction. No flimsy or loose parts. Each piece fits well and tight in place. Shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes to build depending on age.

    The completed model

The final product is very satisfying. A hidden compartment on the hull of the ship contains a hidden missile. The laser can be moved around. The colors blend well with another. The design of the starfighter is rich, vibrant and colorful and looks very similar to the movie design. Great playability and action to be had, especially with younger children

    Summary

This is a great geonosian set and well worth the price but more preferably at a sale price as i still stand by my opinion of $30 to be a bit too steep. But regardless a great investment in minifigures, design and playability. A must buy for any Lego Star Wars fan

  • an army builder!

Written by (Unspecified) in United States,

before i review this set i have to tell ya'll something awesome about this set. there wuz this small toystore that sold lego sets in '01. it soon went outta business and everything was being sold extremely cheap including this set for, get this, one dollar! i got ten sets of these for the original price of 1! Anyway (still gettin' over that) this set is an excellent army builder coming with a hard to find pilot droid. the carrier boosts the rating b/c it includes weapons on it. 7 droids in all (70 for me) too bad the pilot didn't come with a gun. excellent set overall.

  • Terrific Display Set

Written by (Unspecified) in United States,

two biker scouts (or scout troopers, whatever ya wanna call 'em) and an important lego figure, chewbacca. what's better than that? (ok the sith lords and luke and co. displays might be better) but still great guys and collector's cards. and they all come with weapons so you don't have to provide your own. thank you lego!

Written by (Unspecified) in United States,

some of the most wanted figures in star wars history and they all come together! it's a shame these weren't sold at stores so instead i had to order it. but thank goodness they are widely available still. greatest figures but definitely the creepiest!
