Astonishing chin on this one here. Just huge. Practically its own landmass.

By in Brazil,

I had multiple chances to get that set when I was younger, but always refused it, despite liking the AT-ST. All of this due to the lack of important characters. I think that was a great problem of some SW sets between 2004 and 2011. They were nice, but so lacking regarding the minifigs...

I finally got the AT-ST last year though. 75254 is great.

In Star Wars lore, this AT-ST is called the JL-NO variant.

Is this the Cary Grant of AT-ST’s?

Chad meme face time.

By in United States,

While this isn't objectively the most accurate AT-ST design, I have a lot of fond memories of this set. It was my very first OT set growing up, and I even remember details about the shopping trip when I acquired it.

Stanley Donen’s CHARADE, starring Audrey Hepburn and the All Terrain Scout Transport

By in United Kingdom,

It may have a chin like Charles Napier but it's an improvement over 7127.

Well, his mother loves him.

By in United States,

This was the first remake of a playset version of the AT-ST since the original 2001 design 7127.
On the one hand, it's a vast improvement in terms of accuracy while still being incredibly inaccurate. On the other hand though, the simple walking function from the first is now absent and any positioning of the legs here result in the whole thing falling over. The first version was able to look spindly, but was rather sturdy. This one is overly sturdy looking, but it can now rotate its head.
Maybe I'm biased because I spent years with the 2001 set, it was one of my favorites as a kid, and I didn't get the 2007 one until 2013 when I bought it off a friend after cobbling it together from all of his loose parts. 2009's 8038 had a spectacular redesign of the AT-ST, and from then on it's been a success with each redesign. Or at least visually, I can't really say because I have three different AT-STs for my Endor display, I don't need more.

By in United States,

As much as this AT-ST has something of a Hapsburg chin, I rather like it, though I find as I age that I have no idea what scale any Star Wars vehicle ought to be. This seems roughly comparable to the movies: wide enough for two, anyway, though the proportions aren't as good as some of the earlier models.

But then you put one of those clone walkers (say the 501st legion one) next to this and it's supposed to be the walker equivalent of a motorcycle and they are the same scale. As much as the clone ends up being the better model, this is probably the less distorted walker.

It is a VERY pre-2010s Star Wars set, to @lynels 's point, in lacking an extra couple figs thrown in solely to make it fly off shelves faster. Where is my exclusive Paploo variant or rare Endor-print Han Solo? It's like LEGO wanted me to buy this for the model!

If this had a love-child with an AT-AT, that’s when the first elephant was born.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have this set. The chin is huge!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I found this sealed at a local store for $150-200

Gravatar
By in United States,

At least it has a chin 75201

Gravatar
By in United States,

I own both the 2001 predecessor and the 2009 successor from the Endor set. In 2007 this would have gotten an 'A' grade for being better than what came before without being absurdly priced. $20 is a good price and you get a nice set for the money.

Unfortunately, basically every AT-ST after this one is substantially better. So I give this a B-. It's not a bad set but if you're looking for an AT-ST just look elsewhere first.

I was thinking Jay Leno. And while Charles Napier is also a worthy comparison, no chin can compete with that of Bruce Wayne’s from Batman the Animated Series. Especially obvious in his mask, but dude’s head was like 60% chin.

Animaniacs: "He's a CHICKEN! A GIANT CHICKEN I TELL YOU!!!"...:D

Seriously, am I the only person that smiles my fool face off every time I see the Ewoks crush this thing w/those two logs/dead-falls...even my Dad loved that, and he'd been in the military ("totally plausible ..." if remember him saying correctly).

By in United Kingdom,

I think in the annals of Lego attempting to build AT-ST walkers this one falls squarely in the “let’s…keep trying” category

Gravatar
By in Norway,

This has felt like a waste of space in my collection for ages, as the scale is so off and the legs so immobile. The 2009 AT-ST is clearly the superior AT-ST. The head of this one reminds me of the Easter Island statues. That lone minifig does hold up, though, and is a part of my Endor display to this day.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I remember when this was state of the art for Lego! Then they released 8038 a couple of years later and the At-ST in that set blew this one out of the water, both on looks and function - that one is still a fave of mine

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

…. Thinking of AT-ST I would rather see an update of 10174 than a new AT-AT UCS…. I’m probably in the minority on that though

Gravatar
By in Poland,

IMO it's best minifigure scale AT-ST.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

It looks kinda good, until you compare it to what it should look like.

Still, lots of fond memories.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

They showed a Pre-production version of it in the German consumer catalogue where the driver has a light-nogat/flesh-toned skin, but the standard grin! It would have been too awesome if they left it like that!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Not a bad set overall, but the 2016 version is far superior.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Light grey parts pack for detail and greeble work, with one generic minifigure trooper.

Yessir! I would love to see that.

By in United States,

Oh, I have this one! Completely forgot about it until now.
... Didn't realize how bad it looks lol. Wouldn't mind seeing a remake in this scale sometime down the line.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think this is the set that ended my personal "dark age."

I'd appreciate a link to that image if anyone has it. I tried Googling it and couldn't find it.

Also the driver looks a lot like his AT-ST. The goggles, enormous chinstrap, and gray bodysuit and helmet don't look very flattering.
