By in Australia,

I have the 2010/11 one. That was significantly better, but this isn’t too bad nonetheless.

By in United States,

I imagine most people own this X-Wing as part of the initial Minis line where it was packaged with Darth Vader's TIE Advanced (4484). Part of why I passed this up, didn't need it, and now all these years later, the collector in me that has nearly everything from the first five years of LEGO Star Wars wants this really bad. It's not worth what I'd probably have to pay, and yet, I feel the urge.

Edit: Wait, this is the Kabaya thing? I swear I saw this, Boba's Slave I (6964) and the TIE Interceptor (6965) at a Toys R Us back in 2004, and I have never been to Japan.

Kabaya time! Anyone knowing how those candies taste?

The candies that come with collectable Super Sentai merchandise are freaking delicious, so I imagine it's much of the same.

You could bag some nice printed tiles with this one...

By in United States,

I just realized why this Kabaya run used the three specific vehicles that it did. This was for Ep4, and the other two were for Ep5 and Ep6, respectively.

@MCLegoboy:
Yeah, uh, sort of. These polybags actually shipped inside of boxes with the same artwork. Also included in the box was the Kabaya treat in a clear polybag. The TIE was definitely rereleased as just a polybag, and I think the X-Wing followed, but this version of Slave I has never surfaced anywhere else, and it has a few unique parts. The triple wedge slope may exist in that color in other sets, but not with that print. I also recall that the sand-green levers were highly sought after because there was an AFOL Space theme making the rounds at the time, called Jade Empire (the color scheme was a bit nebulous, but one variant used sand-green).

@Atuin:
This trio (X-Wing, BF Slave I, TIE Interceptor) shipped with a pair of gumballs that were about an inch in diameter. I remember thinking it might have been pineapple flavored.

An old friend from college happened to be living in Japan for a few years when this promo hit, so I of course asked him to grab some of these for me. I skipped the X-Wing because the sole difference between this and the first mini from 4484 is that R2 was light-bley instead of light-grey, and if there’s any grey print on the wing tiles, they probably updated that color as well. But, the other two were, at the time, exclusive to this Kabaya promo, so I asked for one TIE and two copies of Slave I (one of which is still sealed in the box with MISB gumballs somewhere). And then the TIE showed up in piles at TRU. I can’t remember if I bought more or not.

Funny thing about the TIE, though. The first minifig-scale Interceptor was the _third_ TIE/In they released, after the UCS version and this. The UCS set dropped with the first UCS X-Wing, with no warning, to launch the UCS line. I remember walking into TRU on my lunch break, and staying up way later than I should have to finish building them both.

@Your_Future_President:
That print, or something like it, is exceedingly common, as nearly every OT mini X-Wing used printed tiles for the wings. Slave I’s wedge was exclusive, and I think the TIE had an exclusive 1x1 tile with the overhead hatch printed on it (plus an extra!).

By in Turkey,

This set shows why we desperately needed the cheese slopes.

By in Iceland,

Do you need to have the Kabaya boxed versions as well as the polybags? I think I just might have to get the other versions.

The printed tiles are so close to looking like the old Lego stamped letter that I mailed one, and it arrived safely at it's destination!

@CAC101:
I'm going to have to amend that score to 9/10. Lost points are for the Red Robin restaurant. I've asked them to bring my burger just shy of burnt, and it was still lukewarm, grey on the outside, and pink on the inside.

By in United States,

Knowing LEGO's 'Star Wars tax', if released today it would be at least 8 dollars.

By in United States,

Something I've always wanted to do but never got around to is buy/build a bunch of spaceships at this scale and set up a miniature dogfight. I think it'd be epic

@GSR_MataNui:
I actually bought a bunch of TIE Fighter and X-Wing polybags with something like that in mind...and then raided several of them for parts.
