Review: 30342 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO

The gift with purchase at LEGO.com in the USA for the second half of August is 30342 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO. I'm assuming it's meant to be a smaller version of the Lamborghini in 76899.
The gold coloured parts on both are certainly striking. I'm not much of a LEGO car collector, in fact this GWP brings my Speed Champions collection to a grand total of 1. However, I do love polybags and had to find out whether the Lamborghini logo on the hood of the car was printed (spoiler: it's not).
Being only 69 pieces, it's a pretty straightforward build. There are four of the 1x2 tiles in gold ink, and two of the 1x1 tiles (and a spare). The gold does really look great against the black pieces surrounding it.
As mentioned earlier, the Lamborghini logo and the headlights are both provided by stickers.
At the rear of the car the taillights have been similarly provided through a sticker. I do like how the spoiler is attached by the use of the transparent 3.2 shaft with knob pieces.
And since we have that angle, you can compare it to the larger version in 76899, or the real thing:
This promotion started on Monday and is available through August 31, or while supplies last. You can get it with a purchase of $35, so it's a relatively low price point. If you're looking for a little bonus when you buy 21323 Grand Piano, this might fit the bill.

Wow, arrived just as this was published! Very thorough review; if I get this set, I'll personally be using it for pieces. As you mention, those gold tiles are wonderful, and the wedge plates and slopes would be useful for my collection. If I get 2 however, I'll probably keep one for display, because despite the need for stickers, it'll still look good next to my other speed champions cars.
Does anyone know about it's availability in the UK?
I may end up seeing if I can just recreate this from parts. The wheels may be a problem, but if needs be there's that blue and red creator car polybag still floating about to complete things.
Nice! A review of a set I actually have & probably the closest I'll get to owning a Lamb! I liked it so much I have it just rolling about my desk, and it did make me ponder getting another Speed Champion set at some point. Didn't bother with the stickers on mine. I was curious about the Lamborghini official product hologram sticker on the back of the polybag for some reason..

It has been a GWP in the UK. I got one in June from the Southampton store soon after it reopened after lockdown.
It has been a GWP in Europe I think on at least two occasions over the past months. Don't remember when I got mine but it's been a while.
In Scandinavia this polybag, alongside a few other selected ones, are available pretty much anywhere where lego is being sold. Just a few years ago polybags were far from this common here
But I think it changed since lego stopped selling 5$/6$ sets. So the polybags probably replaced those
If Lego isn't going to bring back Tiny Turbos they should at least do a polybag for each of the vehicles in the Creator Expert and Technic super cars.

I found a large number of these hanging up at the checkout aisle of several department stores, and buying it for $5 seems better than $35.
I saw a bunch of these at Walmart about a month ago. Was tempted to get some for the gold pieces, but decided against it as they were $5 instead of the usual $4.
$5 is the new usual for polybags. :(
Its been all over in the UK..... I waited and waited and then gave in buying one from Ebay, only to find it was a GWP from Lego.com just after, and then it was free with Top Gear Magazine.... They must have some left as it appears to be a free GWP now, In-Store only.
The important thing isn't this crappy gift item, it's that the City and Friends sets are finally coming available on August 24th. Yay!

I can't imagine anyone ever trying that. That sounds crazy. I mean, who would ask that you spend $35 and just get this little polybag & nothing else? No one would do that, right?

Cute car, but I must say, they both look rather pathetic next to the real thing.
Pretty meh--I grabbed the NES when it came back in stock and was disappointed that this was all I got for $230 (well that and the NES).
you'll also notice on the back of the polybag as gold hologram Lambo sticker with a number on it. Not sure what the number is for.
Disappointed that the Gold bar isn't grey like the one on the full-size Lambo

This is what I have been saying! At least for Creator Expert, as there is precedence. I need a small Aston and 500! Have bug and London bus and am missing Mini and Kombi.

It was as originally a Father’s Day promotion in the UK
This is one of the worse looking real cars ever made by Lego. Doesn't look like the real one at all. It's even worse looking than most city cars.
Hopefully September will see some new GWPs, as August seems to be 'Clear the Leftovers out of the Warehouse' month!

IIRC, all official Lamborghini as well as Ferrari products have their own serial number unique to the company as far as their own catalogue goes.
Got this one as a polybag - it's fun.
I do like the idea of doing more Speed Champions cars as Tiny Turbo-ish sets like this.

Try making an accurate looking Lambo with only 70 pieces -- it's not easy :P
