He truly is the perfect specimen of the human (minifigure) form.

The Legend has nothing to do with Random!

I believe Adventurers may have a return, mostly because the recent Haunted house with all its features!

The things I would do for new Adventurers sets are mostly illegal and all alarming.

Box says it has 12 pieces but there are 13

Back during this time, minifigure heads and torsos came preassembled for some reason, which according to LEGO counted as one piece. So then for any time a figure required a cape or a backpack, well, you would have to take them apart and that could be a struggle because sometimes they were stuck together pretty well.

Haha that's funny, I provided the box pic of this set! I love Adventurers!

There are quite a few CMFs that give me the idea a theme could be made out of them. Johnny Thunder's return in the most recent CMF series gave me just that idea; as opposed to LEGO's now over-dependence on licensed IPs.

And to think, at $5 (the same cost as the new CMF version of Johnny Thunder, you got plenty of gear. A pack, a shovel, TNT, a crate, a rifle, his signature revolver, a magnifying glass (which works quite well!), and a scorpion. While overpriced (especially for 1999), you get much, much more than just a minifig and maybe a couple accessories as his CMF version.

Hail to the king baby. Also that backpack is the coolest part I've never owned.

How cool is the name of the set... Johnny Thunder!

Lego is obviously aware of the Thunder-love amongst fans for all things Adventurers, as seen with the Haunted House.

I hope 2021 brings us a revival.

Still the best Lego theme of all time. I desperately want a revival.

I would follow this man to Hell and back.

Truly the greatest minifigure. This guy did it all. Matched wits with Sam Sinister. Battled undead pharaohs. Captured a T. Rex. Explored Egypt, Asia, South America and a Lost World. Played guitar in the New York Dolls and the Heartbreakers.

Duh... for him to stand on. No 3 x 5 CMF plates back then.

By in Germany,

I own this! I know that this is a terrific comment that everyone was waiting for.. but still, it's such a nice set (for anyone who doesn't own a single other set of this line).

I had this set (likely the set number 5900 version), and the other set with the car (5918 Scorpion Tracker), so I had 2 Johhny Thunders but that was ok.

I used to put the guns on the sides of the car. (hollow stud)

I loved those crate pieces , dynamite printed 1x2 , pistol and scorpions as well, and the magnifying glass works.

The dynamite tile would fit in the backpack.

I still have those sets but I talk in past tense as I keep my old sets seperate.

"Anyone else wondering what the random green plate is for? Johnny seems to be a little violent, in regards to all the guns, and a little careless with dangerous explosives. In my opinion, the best way to get a return is through Ideas; we’ve got a (technically) classic space set, a pirates set, and a castle set in the works coming from that line. Like classic space, LEGO has started giving us little tastes here and there, so maybe there’s a proper set in the works :D"

Adventurers: Babylon anyone?

By in United Kingdom,

This is such a nostalgic set to me, honestly, and I never even owned it. It's just, like... this box-art summarises practically everything that was great about the first Adventurers theme. I loved that little Adventurers logo in the top-right when I was a kid; and the background - all those oranges and yellows, as well as the simple-but effective pyramid and temple designs - practically MAKES the image.

Plus Johnny Thunder himself, of course!

Interestingly enough, I nonetheless had practically all the pieces of this set, except for the crate, from other Adventurers sets. When you already had 5938 Oasis Ambush and 5956 Expedition Balloon, you had almost all of Johnny's accessories here - as well as two of Johnny himself - so I had no reason to buy this set... but even so, I still found myself tempted because these little sets were just so neat.

Wish they still did boxed sets this size. Polybags aren't the same, to me; we never get them locally, anyway, and I miss little impulse-buy Lego sets xD

Man I loved this line of sets.

By in Germany,

I know some will call it blasphemy, but I have zero connection with Johnny Thunder or the Adventurers theme as I was deep in my dark ages at the time. Looks like a nice enough theme but nothing special to me. Don't care for named characters anyway.

By in Germany,

Meh, cheap knock-off of the much, much better 5900

Only miss the Elephants that came in these sets. I think with LEGO presumably still having the Indiana Jones line I kinda would like to see some sets with Indy instead.
