One of the few smaller original Pirates sets I don’t have. Occasionally I look around for one on the market. Would go great with Lagoon Lock Up and Sabre Island.

It was the best of times...

Simple and cute little structure, but it works for what it is, and easily expandable with other figs/sets of the time.

I have it but not for sale I'm afraid. :) One of a handful of pre-90'ies sets I have.

By in Peru,

This really feels like way more than 68 pieces. What an excellent little set.

For that prisoner, there is not much space.

Side note, has anyone seen that Barracuda Bay ad on Instagram? Made me shed a tear, pretty well done ad relying on nostalgia.

This and the Lagoon Lock-up (6267) are another two old sets that I'm really sad I never got around to buying.

This is the only Soldiers set I own. Note that its release in 1991, so this was their last hurrah before being re-skinned as redcoats in the Imperial Guard. I assembled this from spare parts and using online instructions and I daresay it is a highly enjoyable little set. The jail cell is appropriately cramped for the pirate, and the thin, yet architecturally diverse rampart makes for a lot of inventive defense positions for the soldiers to take up. Plus, that flag piece is pretty nice and a rare item these days. Glad I have it in my Pirate collection, though I fear the white bricks have started to yellow.

I think Lego should include the background as a cut out, or maybe they can print it inside the box or something. Because they are so beautiful, they will make the set look even better.

Brig doesn't look very broad to me.

Looking at the instruction, that brig is barely 2x4 in length and width. Oof, even by 18th century standards that seems cramped. That’s less a cell and more the boo box from Hook

Even better - they could provide the background as a digital file so we can all use it for our Zoom virtual backgrounds!

This is probably the second set I owned back in the day. So much memories :)

Haha nice to here that reference. The figure included in the 1968 ford fastback wasnt a too bad steve mcqueen. You could take the baseball glove from the baseball player (series 10 cmf???) and make that scene. And its captain, captain kirtz.

I really love those printed parts with those brick details!

The one Pirates set I owned until I bought a small ship with birthday money when I was sixteen. It's such a perfect little set, and unusual in that price point, even then, I think, for including a building. At the time I just loved that it featured a prison and a rampart, and the decoration on the wall with the decaying whitewash was cool. I always loved anything that offered a bit of atmosphere and it still feels superbly designed today.
