Nobody worry, I'll stop that fire by yelling at it once I arrive on my riding mower.
^Maybe he has 6480 or the fire engine from 6385 helping.
One of my very first sets. So cool to see this as the set of the day. I still have it, and the chest sticker on the mini figure has held up well.
@MCLegoBoy That could be problematic, especially considering how little ear protection he has. Wouldn't want him to be hurt if the fire decides to yell back XD
I think this was one of my first sets too.
What a wonderful little blast from the past :)
It’s a great little set :) I am so proud to own this gem ;)

There’s nothing worse than a roaring fire.
Excellent printed pieces in this set.
Words can't explain how I feel about the sets of this era.
This was before aerodynamics had been invented.
That's one flat car.
@Chills there ist no chest sticker, it is a Print.
I had this set as a child as well. And there was a voucher for a minifig keychain in the Set.

Well he is the fire *chief* after all, he's probably just there to boss the other firefighters around XD
Memories!! This little car was so much fun to zoom around as a child.
I recently washed, de-yellowed, sorted, rebuilt, and packed up all the LEGO of my childhood to pass onto my nephews, so this RSotD comes at a happy time!

Curious; the minifig in my old one is printed! Maybe they did it differently in different parts of the world...?
Today we can buy such small sets as magazine gifts in every kiosk, which is nice. Such as this:

Didn't have this car but the older 6611 more go-kart like version from 1981.

I had set 6643 which just outclassed this too much. Still more firefighters was always good.
One of my earliest sets. At about 4-5 years old at the time, this was well-used in adventures. The imagination does wonders.

Very early minifigs had stickered torsos, but Bricklink set inventory guidelines prevented them from being matched up with the sets they came in. Alternate set inventories were possible, but that didn't extend to minifigs or minifig parts. All minifigs were required to be inventoried with the Y-stud variant head, and I think a few people put in quite a lot of effort a few years ago to convert all of the early set inventories over to solid-stud heads because there were so many problems with people trying to get authentic vintage minifigs buying from people who would strictly follow the minifig inventories because they didn't know any better. Stickered torsos are a lot less common, so there's probably been less of a push to correct set inventories, and a lot less info to work with.
The earliest sets that my brother and I got were Homemaker, with the bendy-arms and brick-built bodies. The next sets we got were the plank minifigs. The third time we got LEGO sets, they had articulated minifigs with printed torsos. We never saw the stickered torsos (my first torso stickers actually came in the Space Skulls set). They may have been geographically isolated, especially since all North American production back in the early days came from the Samsonite license, and in Canada continued almost a decade after the introduction of the articulated minifig.
What a happy little fellow
I have a lot of fond memories for those old Firefighter torsos
Hey its Scott Morrison in Lego!
Shout at people, share the blame and bring nothing to actually stop a fire! This minifigure is spot on, it even has him smiling constantly despite people dying and the destruction of the Australian landscape.
