By in Venezuela,

This is a good chance to remind y'all about the "DOTS" theme coming this year, which has been frequently rumoured to be some sort of jewellery theme, like this, like Clikits...

I love how charmingly kitsch this theme is, it's like kitchen tiles for your hands!

Lantern rings of compassion, rage, love...

No?

By in Portugal,

For a second I thought I was going to see Bilbo, Frodo or Smaug on the picture...

Then I saw the Lady of the Rings...

By in United Kingdom,

That little girl will be about 50 now

I wonder if she still has the rings

Huwbot! Are you cheating on Clikits!?

By in United States,

Ah, a normal Huwbot selection.

I am waiting for the first person who posts that their engagement ring was LEGO....

By in Australia,

^ No, but thanks for the idea, because my engagement ring is *totally* going to be Lego.

By in Australia,

And today you could accessorise those rings with some Trolls hairpieces. I hope someone’s long term investment has paid off.

What lovely tiles and what a scarily vapid little girl.

If I had proposed with a LEGO engagement ring, there would never have been a wedding ring of any kind!

By in Australia,

Scala!

It sounds like some evil villain's name, if you swap the 'c' out for a 'k' with an evil German sounding accent.
This is the first time we've had a Scala set as RSoTD for along time!
These sets were basically the ancestors of Clikits.

^Though we live in a new age: The Bionicle era!

The last Clikits set was back on 10/20/19, 76 days ago!

By in Hungary,

Looks like clikits, calls itself scala

my brain hurts

By in United States,

Interesting that we've had forerunners of both the talked-about "weird" themes on the RSOTD recently, RoboRiders and Scala for Bionicle and Clikits, respectively.

By in Germany,

I think it is the smallest Box I came ever across. Took me a long time to get 4306 and 4307. In fact I believed for a long time that the 4 Digit Scala Sets were'nt Producer at all until I found some 4336 curved tiles in a flea market.

The way the kid is wearing them in the picture, they look like brass knuckles to anyone else?

By in Australia,

My neighbour had this and most of the other scala sets growing up. I remember them well. She was older than me and into that stuff. I of course was more interested in my classic space then castle sets.

I didn’t realize that the current ring had such a similar ancestor (and with such a production gap between)

Do you ever wonder who these kids are and where they are now and what became of their lives? Something interesting to think about.

By in Netherlands,

Friends had similar rings as recently as 2018 with 5005237-1: Friendship Rings.

Just shows how they evolved over time from just prints to "3d" builds.

While not this set, I did experience set 308-1: Bracelet as my family's LEGO collection must have had 2 of those sets as those printed number/apple/flower/pattern tiles were used in my builds many years ago, mostly as floor/wall decoration for minifig houses.

Also the upcoming DOTS theme might be something similar.

Clikits, Trolls, Scala. A regular day in Huwbot's brain

And the next wave of Scala products weren't released until 17 years later in 1997.

Here we go, 2020! ;)

By in United States,

Main value here is the tiles. Really nothing else to bother with.
