Wish that Lego will make sets like that.

Back when UCS didn't have to have interiors or minifigures to still be a cool model.

A break from Bionicle Set of the Day then, eh?

Great Legs!

Mine is sitting directly behind my laptop as I'm typing this. It is a large yet affordable build with neat features. The cockpit can turn, the roof hatch can be opened, and the side guns are able to be aimed.

I remember wanting this set so bad for Christmas when it came out; it was all I could think about Christmas eve. The next day was a glorious one!

I just want a set of that giant satellite in the background that thing is sweet.

I remember picking this up. I think I almost immediately sorted it after building it once. It’s a faithful rendition of the AT-ST, but I think the cockpit was a little flimsy.

When lego made Affordable prices for ucs sets :)

Never noticed it was so inexpensive… I guess this set will be remade at some point, but I hope it will include minifigs (including yet another Chewbacca — that I could swing like Tarzan from the Ideas Treehouse) but hopefully also a couple of Ewoks) and an interior.

This design holds up really well. I was under the impression that the "eyes" were too close together, but comparing it now, they do look good. It was very economical with the stickers: one on the forehead, one for the display placard. That's it. The greebles and details were nice, especially on the back of the cabin. Leg posability was a non-starter because of the realities of physics on a model of this shape, so they took advantage of all the other possible features. Movable front cannons and side weapons, head on a swivel, and an opening hatch. I assume designers also had to compromise and widen the middle of the legs for stability (and I think the feet are a little larger for the same reason). Definitely understandable.

The AT-ST is tricky to get right in minifig scale, but at UCS scale, certain techniques become possible, and shapes have more room to be achieved. A great model.

I really hope Lego will someday make a new and improved (using new elements not yet available back then) remake of this set. Was still in my dark ages back then. Would love to add or to my collection...

By in Germany,

Friendly reminder that this set released 13 years ago and would cost over $100 in today's money.

I bricklinked this one. I also managed to get the instructions and stickersheet (still unused). Best technique is the rubber band holding the cockpit together.

I recall being annoyed by this set.
It was a sealed set bought in early December 2006.
While it was a great build, mine had a mix of new and old greys in it, which was something I had to fix.

Didn’t it give a nice worn out effect?

Lego should make more walker UCS sets.

One of my favourite UCS’s. Particularly love the rear view which shows the detail on the legs and behind the cockpit. A truly great set that deserves a remake (this time without an elastic band). Picked it up from eBay in about 2011 for £100. And it was only £60 new? Lego needs to get back to reasonably priced ucs sets.

Still waiting for its big brother, a UCS AT AT.

I was too young when this set came out but I was aware of it. I was always put off by the studded surfaces. Its not something that usually annoys me but I think it looks weird here because of the scale. Apart from that its a good looking set.
Do the legs move properly (or at all)? That is my main criticism with the new smaller scale AT-ST's.

I would also love to have a remake of this set, preferably with an interior. Even with modern pricing, it'll be one of the more affordable UCS sets.

The System AT-STs will be this price soon.

A new UCS AT-ST would cost more than twice as that.

Pretty much the first time I've checked RSOTD in around a week and I missed five BIONICLE sets. I spent a whole month checking daily to add lore to them and the second I stop they start up again!

A beautiful AT-ST and a beautiful UCS set. Never had it but I always wondered how closely it scaled to minifigs, I'm sure its a bit larger than it should be right?
