Today's random set is 7687 City Advent Calendar, released in 2009. It's one of 34 City sets produced that year. It contains 257 pieces and 9 minifigs, and its retail price was US$29.99/£19.55.
It's owned by 2755 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Not only did we just get one, I'm pretty sure it was the '08 one!
Neat that it has all exclusive minifigures. And the head used for Santa is the one that looks exactly like me.
