There's four half-droids on that blue thing holding the purple thing!
That's like...
at least 2 droids, right?
.5 x 4 = 2

I still think this is the best four-wide ambulance Lego has ever produced. Pity the license makes it overpriced on the used market.

Honestly I can barely even tell what's going on in the box art.

I’m gonna need an ambulance after starring at that box art. It gives me epilepsy and verdigo.

Wicked cool ambulance, though.

I came here to mention the ambulance and three of the five comments already mentioned it.

Have it. The blue battle droid arms are exclusive to this set as well as trans-purple 3x3 dishes. This version of Doc Ock has a weird misprint in some production batches, where his mouth isn't printed white as it should be. I have the misprint and just checked on Bricklink: only one has it and it goes for $176... Holy moly!

I'm trying to piece together the movie based on what we see here and my 'watched it twice 15 years ago' memory. Wasn't it about Doc Ock being a cool guy, but the arms he needed to control his super awesome new power source drove him mad? Such a weird interpretation of a pretty basic villain.

@Mechahamster: almost. Doc Ock experiments with some sort of fusion reactor, which explodes, killing his wife and fusing the (artificially intelligent) arms, which he needed to operate the device from a distance, to his spine. It's the AI in the arms that influences his brain and actions from then on, although at the end, he redeems himself by saving NY from disaster.
I'll be honest, it's my very favorite Spiderman movie, and Doc Ock is one of my favorite villains.

By in Serbia,

The Raimi Spider-Man sets were some of the (if not the absolute) best Marvel sets LEGO has ever made. The Bank Robbery, Ock's Hideout, the runaway train, the bridge with the cable car, even the movie-making sets... great stuff

I didn't know I had the set but I have that ambulance. I don't remember what crazy junk is going on besides the ambulance.

This is my favorite Spider-Man minifigure.

Based on the box art I thought those droid arms were purple, but according to other comments they're blue. Shame, but still handy,

First licensed set I ever owned. The "FDNY" ambulance was my introduction to LEGO EMS and the stretcher part; and the issue of the legs/wheels cracking at the pivot. It's a shame so few parts survive. It would be a cool one to rebuild.

I never had any of the OG Spiderman sets as a kid, but I do remember trying to make my own version of Doc Ock's arms. I had every piece needed except the bracket with a pin; trying to work around that ended up making the back even bulkier.

MataNui2009 , purple was a BARELY used color back in 2004. I think I had about 6 1x2 bricks in a deep purple color.

Times have changed. We are only allowed two grey colors, couldn't keep the old greys, but we have 50 shades of pink and purple.

@alldarker I wasn't far off! I have a special place in my heart for the first Sam Raimi movie. The second one was not bad, but the less said about the third one the better.
