Today's random set is 3303 Goals and Linesmen, released in 1998. It's one of 61 Town sets produced that year. It contains 63 pieces and 3 minifigs.
It's owned by 553 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Not a bad set! Even though it has relatively few pieces, it doesn’t seem bare or lacking of precision.

Yeah, while some of the soccer sets left a bit to be desired, I was always a fan of all these add-on and extra sets, because they really provided a lot of extra scenery for your Lego soccer field.
Hmm, with all the football related sets I got, never thought of these guys. I have to make up for this when I put together the town again. Thanks for the tip...
What does Shell have to do with football?
^ They were available exclusively at Shell petrol stations in 1998. It was promotional sets such as those in the 1990s that prompted me to create Brickset, to keep track of them all and their availability.
Huh, I didn't realise that actual football pieces had existed prior to the debut of the Sports line in 2000. That's news to me.
I love this set.
Green is an interesting color for referees, even in today's multi-colored world, I rarely have seen dark green official uniforms...

LEGO football was the first sports line, incorporated into the main theme when it debuted in I think 2003
