This one has been on my "Want" list for a long, long time. Ever since my dad's boss invited him and I over to his house one day and I beheld his 9V Lego train layout, I was captivated by every set that made it up. The Load N' Haul Railroad. The Octan tank car. And most prominently, this set! I had already seen it in a S&H catalog earlier that year, so I was already enamored of it and Trains in general. But everything at this guy's place was way, way over my parents' humble budgets for Micro-Lego_Lord_Mayorca's growing Lego collection.

Fast forward a couple of decades, and I've almost got it all...everything except 4555! Hard to find a sealed copy on eBay these days. A Hong Kong seller on Bricklink has a new one for $349, but I still hold out some hope I can find a sealed one from a USA seller who can hopefully sell for a little lower than $350. Time will tell!

Hmm, I don't recongnize this set, but it looks adorable! I love the dollhouse town sets, they're so much roomier than the dollhouse city ones.

Oooh, a 9V train set. I always get such a thrill seeing these pop up. On the downside, I thought the internal area was a bit lacking (you could make the downstairs reception area and the upstairs workroom/kitchen so much more interesting. Where's the seat for visitors? Where's the kitchen bench for the coffee machine? Etc etc) ... but the actual train elements of the set were stellar. The truck, three pallets of freight (and I still love the 4 x 8 shipping container/pallet designs. I'm mad they've gotten larger, over the years, there was so much variety with the 4 x 8 pallets), and a really cool freight carriage that looked great behind 4551.

But yeah, it's one of the few old 9V sets that I don't have, darn my luck. It's on my list.

By in United Kingdom,

Horribly-designed & shockingly-photographed...
Massively-playable though!
(But having said that, 6339 came out the same year for the same price...)

I agree with bananaworld that this set is not photographed properly, but to me that's a part of the appeal. There's a bit of a mysterious depth to this set that makes it intriguing. Wish I had it.

Isn't that the back of the box?

Have it complete with stickers and box and love it!. Usually these 9V sets have stickers that dog ear or are missing altogether.
