Today's random set is 7529 Stylin' Stationery Set, released in 2004. It's one of 40 Clikits sets produced that year. It contains 72 pieces, and its retail price was US$13/£9.99.

It's owned by 36 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

I think clickits were a good inclusion into the Lego Empire as it has gathered great minifig pieces and sold them in one set for a reasonable price. My nearest third-party Lego store used to have one of these for $50AUD.

^^^Before Friends, it was a girl's theme.

There were 85 sets over 4 years, 2004 had the most (40), as shown above. Only 8 sets were done in 2006, the last year of the theme.

My daughters would probably like this theme if it were still about, thank goodness for lego friends 2012-2017 ranges atleast and the elves & Disney princess's Because scala and Belleville before them were quite naff looking if I'm honest..

I did not even know that this kind of sets existed. As Isabella says it's clearly an attempt for a girl theme but it looks so far from "Lego", just as Scala dolls were... Random set of the day is definitely a good way to discover different aspects of TLG.

Some parts introduced for this odd theme are still being used by TLG today.

The funny thing is that almost none of the colors used in this line appeared anywhere else. They were specially introduced for Clikits and produced at a separate factory so were even able to not be affected by the big color change of 2004. However all colors died out with it's theme anyway, so they have a very limit parts palette.
One odd example though is, that the lightsaber blade of the first Mace Windu minifig (2005) used one of these colors: 284 Transparent Reddish Lilaq (instead of the much more common Tr. Bright Bluish Violet)

It does not seem to be stud based or compatible with the bricks in anyway, so I guess one has to be really creative to include it in a MOC. If possible, I guess some of the small accessories could work as details.

Never got an Clikits but I thought it was an interesting idea, LEGO customizable accessories. In addition to this theme LEGO has done things like decoratable smartphone covers, buildable watches, and clocks with studs on top. Really lets you LEGO-fy everything in your house.

Looking at the different sets, the colours are really very nice.
