WOW Thinking Behind the scenes | WOW Monograph -
The process of creating our book which began with a team meeting in November 2013 turned into something none of us expected or was exactly prepared for. We thought the toughest part of the job was selecting the 13 projects to be featured out of the 13 years worth of work we have done. We expected a straight forward process of selecting images and colours and submitting it to the publisher, like when we requested a black background with white text and drawings. But reality was that we needed to select which paper to print the black on and in what shade and with what type of lamination. We went through samples after samples to get it right and the same process for every inch of the book. An intensive 10 months of daily communication, decision-making, reviewing layouts, designing, writing, and editing followed. We invite you to look back at a part of this journey. IMG_8039
Beautiful Ugly /anglais
Beautiful Ugly: The Architectural Photography of John Gollings: Joe Rollo: 9780500500316: Books - Amazon.ca .For more than 40 years John Gollings has been the photographer of choice the go-to guy for scores of architects. A Gollings photograph reveals a great deal about the aspirations, aims and beliefs, and the zeitgeist of a building and its architects intentions. This is based on and expressed through Gollings' own knowledge of architecture; his understanding of light and weather; and the way buildings work and how they inhabit their sites. Beautiful Ugly takes a look in words, pictures and recollections at the art of Gollings' photography as he has made his remarkable journey around Australias architectural landscape.
