Matt Shepherd on Instagram: "1928 Invicta 4½ litre. One of the early LC models with a 4½ litre Meadows engine, and for use with Scotland Yard’s Flying Squad. The Flying Squad had used Crossley’s when they first were formed in 1919 and later Lea Francis, realising they needed faster cars to catch the crooks they turned to Invicta. Tested at Brooklands by the Flying Squad along with Invicta, the tremendous acceleration of 10 to 60 mph in 11 seconds made it very useful. One early famous outing was
