But I kept trying and finding ways to improve. Doesn’t matter where you start or that you don’t have any ‘formal’ training. It’s 👏 not 👏 too 👏 late 👏 to 👏 learn! I learn something new every single week. I push myself, I try and find an affordable solution when It doesn’t work the first time. Sewing is like riding a bike, you really can’t expect to get it perfect the very first try. But maybe after 2 or 3 tries, you will get going and it will seem easier and easier as you go. And you will never forget. The coverstitch machine that I have I eyes set on is roughly CA 2400$. And it’s out of reach for the moment. Lots of jelly colors are here: https://sewhungryhippie.com/collections/transparent-vinyl | By Sew HungryHippie | This jelly pouch takes about 10 minutes to make. It's been a free tutorial on my website for many years. Let me show you really quick what I'm doing. First, I attach the zipper tabs and trim them down to the width of the zipper tape. I'm using my banana number five zipper tape here. Add a little double sticky tape to hold everything in place and then attach it right sides together with a finger width of space on each end. That's so you don't have crunched corners and then attach it Then press it down. Give it a whack with your mallet and top stitch. So everything lays in place really nicely. Repeat the process for the other side. Exactly the same. And there's your other side. Open the zipper. Put the pieces right sides together and use clips to hold in place. Sew around the perimeter of the bag. And then trim corners. Turn right sides out and there you have it. All materials at Sew HungryHippie.
