Social Media and Revolution in the Arab World
I've pinned as short video from Al-Jazeera that reflects social medias importance in revolution in the Arab world. The Arab Spring was started by young people fearlessly spreading messages that questioned religion and politics via the internet. The age of information has created forums for people to spread revolutionary ideas that have benefited the world.

The iPhone is the defining product of the Age of Information. Access to anyone in the world with a phone or internet connection is possible thanks to the smartphone. Virtually any known piece of information in the world is on the internet, and thanks to the smartphones capabilities, access to all known information is possible from the palms of our hands.

I need to stop looking at things on the internet
It would be impossible to create a board about the Information age and not pin something to do with the internet. I chose this picture because these recognizable logos of some of the worlds most powerful corporations are all tech-based internet companies. We undoubtedly live in an era dominated by the internet.

Despite being dead for over a century, I've pinned a picture of Nietzsche because I believe his philosophical teachings become truer as the Age of Information advances. Nietzsche believed in an affirmation of life in the moment, as opposed to an afterlife. The Information Age has seen a shift from a world preoccupied with religion, to a world occupied with humanism. Young people challenge ideas and religion in an unprecedented manner. Nietzsche's idea that "God is dead" resonates strongly today.

April Campus Days! | Brock University Student Bloggers
As alluded to in my pin of the abandoned factory, education is paramount to success in the Age of Information. I chose to pin Brock University's Schmon Tower because it dominates St.Catharines landscape from atop the escarpment, reflecting the importance of education in the information era. I spent a few years working before attending Brock. Education is important as all jobs today integrate ever changing technology. Employers want to hire educated people who can keep up to these advancements.

Brasov Factory - Abandoned
The Information Age has triggered an economical shift from manufacturing to a technological and information based economy. I chose to pin this picture because it reminds me of the now closed GM factory in my hometown. GM was formerly St. Catharines main employer, but now the school board, health system, and Brock University employ the most people. This shift is a direct reflection of the economic climate in the Information Age and how this era is one that benefits educated people.

The advent of the Information Age has certainly brought forth an age of surveillance. All web activity, whether it be a simple Google search or a post on a social media site, is tracked and can easily be traced and surveilled. This post represents the feeling of a living in a surveilled state in the Age of Information.

Though the pace of the world in the information age is overwhelming to some, global connectedness has created opportunity and a way of thinking that has never before existed in the world. This pin represents the connectedness of the world today. This connectedness particularly benefits young people with the means to travel, study abroad, and broker business deals in any continent. Young people in the Age of Information feel part of a "global community" more than any generation before us has.

People Walking (part 1)
The Information Age has created an unprecedented ease in accessing people, information, goods, services, etc. The ease at which people can attain what they want has made a world that quite literally never sleeps. This pin represents the pace of the world, and how people are constantly moving, and if a human today doesn't keep up, they will be left behind.
