The perfect way to end your Around the World, All About Me, or Family Units... a lapbook project that ties together social studies and ELA! As each student dives into a search of their multicultural roots, they will practice their reading, writing, and speaking skills while gaining a deeper appreciation of the cultures that make up their family tree. Though most of the project is completed in class, three parts are taken home for family input (a flipbook, a family tree, and a family recipe card) encouraging school-home connections. All project pieces are organized inside a file folder lapbook decorated to resemble an old-fashioned suitcase! In addition to the lapbook, I have also included suggestions for a culminating activity in which students introduce their unique cultures to their classmates through a brief oral report. The best part about this project? When it's complete, you have an awesome display that celebrates your classroom's cultural diversity, and your students have a precious keepsake of their family heritage! ⭐How editable is this product? Existing colors, artwork, and text cannot be changed, and no pictures can be added. Only a few of the included pages are editable allowing you to fill in due dates and other information unique to your class. This is a PDF document, which means you will be able to type into textboxes that have already been placed on the editable pages, but you will not be able to add your own textboxes. Please use the latest version of ADOBE ACROBAT OR READER ONLY when editing this resource (Mac users should avoid using Preview.) All pages within the PDF file are contained within one continuous document. If you need to save one or more pages of the file on its own (i.e. to email to students), you will need to type those page numbers in the print dialogue box, choose "print to PDF," and save as a new file on your computer.
