Repitition Series, 11.1g ss 74 min, ring size 8

11.1g ss 74 min is a ring that was created as part of my Repetition Series. The concept for Repetition Series is to look at the act of labor as a precious commodity, materializing its presence in a way that is popularly understood. This process was executed through measuring out sterling silver scrap and precious metal purchased from clients looking to recycle their old jewelry, melting it into a new ingot and hand forging the ingot into new forms. Through this process, I mapped the expansion of the ingot and set the final form in creative settings. Here is 11.1g ss 74min which is 11.1 grams of recycled sterling silver that I spent 74 minutes forging into its current form. It is set upon a sterling silver hollow form ring designed specifically for this forged piece. The width of the top of the ring is approximately 1" but it is 3/8" at the center of the ring hole. The top is 2.75" long and the base is approximately 7/8". 11.1g ss 74 min is set in a really fun ring form that is a size 8. I can not resize this ring but if you are interested in something similar in another size I would love to work with you to make a custom piece.
