6.2K views · 5.9K reactions | This has to be one of my favourite recipes - homemade air dry clay using ingredients you probably already have in the pantry. Find the recipe below ⬇️ This isn’t the first time I’ve made DIY air dry clay paintables for the boys. I first made these about a year ago and they’re still going strong! This recipe dries white so it’s perfect for painting or colouring in. I used playdough cutters to create these vehicle paintables, but you can also use the clay to make all sorts of creations. Here’s the recipe for homemade air dry clay: Ingredients 1 cup bicarbonate soda (baking soda) 1/2 cup cornflour 3/4 cup water Method Combine dry ingredients in a saucepan and add water. Cook over low heat, stirring continuously. When the mixture appears smooth and creamy (kind of like mash potatoes) it’s ready. Allow to cool before kneading. If it’s a little sticky add some more cornflour. Roll it out and cut the shapes desired - using playdough cutters allows you to make some very cool paintables! Any leftover clay should keep for a couple of weeks. Wrap it in cling wrap and store in an air tight container to prevent it from drying out. I find after 2 days of air drying, they will be hard enough on the outside to paint, but the inside will still be soft and they’re more likely to break. We get a little impatient with these, but for best results I recommend waiting around 5 days for them to be completely hardened. . . . . #artsandcraftsforkids #paintingforkids #kidscraftsideas #activitiesforkids #toddleractivities #diyplayideas | Maddie | Sensory Play & Kids Activities | thirdwavebbq · Original audio
