Healing Beyond Food
While diet is fundamental for our overall health, true healing goes beyond what we eat. It’s not just about the food on our plates but also about nourishing our entire selves. Genuine physical healing is deeply connected with our mental, emotional, and spiritual health. As an example, managing stress through practices like meditation or prayer can significantly impact physical health by reducing inflammation and promoting better digestion.

Mary (81 years old!) shares an update after 1.5 years. Even though Mary started some medications, she is still healthier than most 81-year-olds. She continued to follow a carnivore diet, and in this update, she shares all the amazing health benefits she continues to experience with an all-meat diet. After 4.5 years of commitment, Mary proves you can thrive and overcome challenges with the carnivore lifestyle...
Think Like a Bodybuilder | Robert Sikes
Challenges in the bodybuilding space can also be seen in the real world. People who aren't bodybuilders often go through periods of chronic restriction, undereating, and lacking dietary fat, which can lead to bingeing and purging, By adopting the structured phases of building and cutting that is common in bodybuilding, the general public could benefit greatly.
Effective Fat Loss | Robert Sikes
When you chronically undereat, your metabolism downregulates as a survival mechanism, but the opposite occurs when you begin overfeeding or reverse dieting. By allowing your body ample time to reset and upregulate its metabolic rate and function, improvements in energy, sleep quality, training performance, and recovery make transitioning into a fat-loss phase much more effective.
Managing Food Addiction | Dr. Lisa Wiedeman
Understanding your relationship with food can lead to ultimate healing and wellness. Having personalized boundaries around foods, such as enjoying cheese only when dining out, can help maintain food freedom. If one pork rind leads to a whole bag of pork rinds, maybe eating pork rinds is only for special occasions. If heavy cream, causes you to mostly eat carnivore cream goodies, maybe limiting (processed) heavy cream is necessary.
Glucose Going Up Is Normal
It's fascinating to discover that dolphins, who are pretty much carnivore, experience a rise in blood sugar when eating only meat. Hmm. For dolphins, this is a normal response, especially when they eat only meat. (Dolphins blood sugar drop when they eat carbohydrates.) These dolphin studies share these blood sugar changes as a normal, adaptive response and not indicative of metabolic illness. Could this mean that maybe, oh maybe, our blood sugar going up on an all-meat diet is also a normal, adaptive response? ...
Eat Sugar to Reduce Glucose Levels
I use a lot of practicality or common sense to make sense of so much that goes on in the wellness space. A carnivore diet tends to raise blood sugar levels. We literally eat zero sugar, and our blood sugar rises. (my next post will share why I think this may occur). But one way people have solved for this is by recommending carbs. Okay, so let me get this straight. In order to lower blood sugar when I eat zero sugar, I should add sugar (or any carbohydrate) to my diet? (and it works...) Yes, we can blame insulin sensitivity and triggering insulin to work better, which subsequently makes the blood sugar go back down, but is this ideal? I find it very shocking that the solution to high blood sugar levels is often to consume more sugar, especially when following a low carb diet...
Is Carnivore Just for Men? | Nina Teicholz
What heals on a carnivore diet? Many women suffering from severe health conditions, such as autoimmune disorders, skin issues, and joint pain, have turned to the carnivore diet out of necessity rather than vanity. Remarkably, they've experienced rapid and unexpected improvements, from alleviating IBS to resolving vertigo. Meat heals, and dietary changes can make big impacts. And you can't know it until you try it.
Who Is Part of the Carnivore Movement? | Nina Teicholz
Lately, headlines share that carnivore is mostly for men? I think this is far from the truth. Our Carnivore or meat-based practice is a mix of men and women, but there are still more women than men. And @ninateicholz shares the truth. Make sure to watch the full episode! Out today!
Salad or Steak for Healing
What you eat plays a critical role in fueling your body and mind. Whether it's a cup of noodles, a big bowl of salad, or a ribeye steak, your diet provides the essential raw materials to support gut and brain health, helping your immune system stay strong and resilient. I choose to fuel with ribeye.
Fixing Electrolyte Issues with Carbs
Simple logic goes a long way. If most people can balance their electrolytes and minerals on a carnivore or low-carb diet, but you can't, then the diet is likely not the problem. Seriously. If you've given carnivore a good hard try, and you cannot balance electrolytes or you have restless leg syndrome at night, it's time to test a hormone marker.
Why Eating When Stressed Is Bad
Feeling stressed out? Chronic stress can divert blood flow away from your gut, weakening your immune system and leaving you more vulnerable to illness. Your body best digests in a rest and digest state. It's crucial to prioritize eating with a calm mind to help restore your body's natural defenses. By managing stress (e.g., meditation, regular exercise, and adequate sleep, what you focus on) you can support your gut health and boost your immunity...
Symphonic Nature of Sleep - Dr. Stasha Gominak
We find that sleep is one of the most difficult symptoms to address. The main reason? Because for everyone, the reasons differ. 🔸For some, we can recommend eating dinner early. 🔸For others, we can recommend magnesium, epsom salt baths, sole water, even a bit of calcium 🔸For some, it's working on reducing stress, and doing meditation practices before bed. This includes not watching the news or looking at social media hours before...
Weak Science of Serotonin - Dr. Georgia Ede
For years, we were taught that a chemical imbalance, specifically serotonin deficits, was the root of psychiatric issues. Despite prescribing medications to correct this, the science behind it is weak. These treatments often prove inadequate, helping only a few while frequently failing or worsening the condition for many others.
Mental Health Factors - Dr. Georgia Ede
Understanding brain chemistry reveals that serotonin is just a tiny piece of the puzzle in brain health. The real culprits behind mental illnesses include inflammation, oxidative stress, and insulin resistance. These factors impair the brain's ability to function properly.
